About this property

This gorgeous 15th Century cottage sits in the heart of one of England’s best preserved Mediaeval villages, originally home to a wool-weaving loom. Weavers Cottage exudes charm with its original wooden beams, irregular flooring and cosy fireplace. The open plan layout makes great use of space and natural light while retaining its warm and quirky character, the cottage is ideally suited to a young family or a couple looking for a romantic getaway.

Situated atop a hill on a quiet street with rural views over a lovely garden, the cottage provides a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle in a uniquely Lavenham style.

The property is accessed from the street through a cheerful yellow door leading straight into the sitting area with a sofa, two comfortable armchairs, a Smart television, and open wood-burning fireplace. Continuing through to open-plan kitchen and dining space , beside the fully equipped bathroom.

A door at the base of the stairs prevents overuse by inquisitive toddlers and a permanent gate at the top of the stairs prevents accidents. A pass through bedroom at the top of the stairs offers built-in bunk beds, irresistible to younger guests, leading to the master bedroom with a king-size bed and views over the wonderful Suffolk countryside.

The enclosed garden has a patio just outside the kitchen with seating for four beneath a large parasol, allowing you to take full advantage of the gas barbecue. Steps and a path then wends down into a terraced lawned area with mature planting and a pleasant covered bench ideally suited to enjoy the countryside tranquillity

One small well behaved dog welcome (small additional charge).

Old, steep, uncarpeted stairs with no handrail - this property is not recommended for those with restricted mobility

Steps and uneven terrain mean care should be taken in the garden

There is no assigned or off-road parking for this property but the area outside of the cottage does offer unrestricted parking
