Holmleigh in Aldeburgh is a well-received cottage, praised for its cosy comfort, modern decor, and quiet location. Guests appreciate the well-maintained garden and thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.
Most guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean, with comfortable bedding and towels. However, a few noted some cleanliness issues, such as dust and a dirty oven, which slightly lowers the score.
The cottage is consistently praised for its fabulous location in Aldeburgh, close to local amenities and the beach, making it an ideal spot for guests.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with comfy armchairs, a well-supplied kitchen, and a warm atmosphere. The steep staircase may be a concern for those with mobility issues.
The property is well-equipped with modern facilities, though some guests mention maintenance issues such as a dripping tap, stiff shower mixer, and a slow-cooling fridge/freezer.
The provision of welcome gifts, including wine and biscuits, and other thoughtful touches are frequently mentioned and appreciated by guests. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed with every stay.
Boasting a superb setting close to the centre of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, Homleigh offers well-presented accommodation which is ideal for a family holiday. The property is the perfect holiday destination whatever time of year it is, with the sitting room providing a warm and welcoming space and the addition of a feature open fire helping to take the edge off the chill in the winter months. If the weather is warmer, then there is a fantastic outside courtyard garden with a table and chairs set up ready for the adults to enjoy time alfresco whilst children (and a pet!) can enjoy the space and fresh air. When it’s time to eat, the designated chef can make their way to the fully fitted kitchen where they will find everything needed to produce hearty food for the whole family and there is a door opening onto the courtyard at the rear, so when the food is ready to serve up, if the weather allows, you can serve up outside. If it’s not quite warm enough, then the dining room is all set up leading off from the kitchen with a rustic dining table and large, west-facing windows helping to allow the light flood in and creating a really sociable space. Come bedtime and the children’s bunk bedroom offers a really cool space while the double bedroom gives the grown-ups the chance to rest in a room with a truly relaxing vibe. Grab a quick shower or a relaxing soak in the bath in the morning and you’re good to go. Within a short walk is the town of Aldeburgh which has a beach, a museum and a great selection of shops and eateries, so you can easily while away a day here. Head a little further down the coast and you can check out places such as Thorpeness, Walberswick and Southwold, all picture-postcard seaside settings and perfect for a beach day out. Jump in the car for a scenic drive to attractions such as Snape Maltings, home of the famous Aldeburgh Music Festival, Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, RSPB Minsmere and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve. Offering a stylish and relaxing home-from-home, Holmleigh is the perfect holiday destination.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

The only slight negative was that bloody front gate!

Bright and airy decor. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything that was needed. The back garden was excellent for the dogs and a nice place to sit. The stairs are steep with a sharp twist at the bottom and may not suit people with mobility issues.

We always stop in this cottage which is lovely and a real home from home. Thank you for the lovely gifts of food and drinks that were left for us and the surprise that arrived on Saturday. Our dog loved her treats so thank you for thinking of her. I was hoping to book for next year but the dates not released as yet.
