Guests have praised Church Farmhouse for its spaciousness, historical charm, and peaceful countryside setting. The property's well-equipped games room, comfortable beds, and welcoming touches like cake and Prosecco on arrival are frequently mentioned. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and a desire to return.
The majority of reviews highlight the property as very clean, with only a few isolated comments on musty smells likely due to the property's age. The cleanliness is consistently praised, suggesting a high standard is maintained.
The location is described as peaceful and perfect for countryside walks, with easy access to nearby towns and pubs. Some guests experienced issues with flooding and drainage, but these seem to be weather-related rather than constant concerns.
Comfort is frequently commended, with special mentions of comfortable beds and cosy living spaces. A few guests noted the house was hard to keep warm and had rough carpets, but these comments are relatively rare.
Facilities like the games room are a hit, and the property is well-equipped for guests. Some feedback suggests room for improvement in maintenance, such as the need for more outside lighting, a second TV, and addressing a musty smell.
Guests frequently express appreciation for the thoughtful touches, such as the provision of essentials upon arrival. While these gestures are highly valued, it is important to note that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

It was comfortable and very warm. There were a couple of issues which Austin dealt with very promptly. He was easily contacted. However it must be noted that despite his best efforts it was not possible to get any reliable internet. The TV (brand new) was pixilating on most channels though bizarrely one channel on ITV was clear. We feel it ought to be mentioned to potential visitors beforehand. Otherwise we had a most enjoyable stay.

The facilities were clean and it was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I have some feedback though. 1. The smell downstairs was awful. It hit us the moment we walked in and seemed to emanate from the cupboard on the far right in the kitchen. It really was most off putting and quite vile. 2. As itâs quite likely that you will be having largish parties to stay, larger cooking vessels would be great to have. We had to buy a couple of large disposable roasting tins. However the second point is minor in comparison to the dreadful smell. Perhaps leaving some more scented candles/diffusers might help if it canât get sorted. All that said though, we loved cottage, enjoyed reading about its history and had a very lovely time so thank you.

The games room was a great amenity for us to enjoy too. The house was very clean when we arrived and Janet and David (the housekeepers) were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely hope to book again in the future.
