Guests say

Sailor's Retreat is a well-regarded property, praised for its high-quality accommodation, spaciousness, and well-equipped facilities. The garden is appreciated, and its proximity to Southwold and local beaches is a plus. A welcome pack is mentioned, adding a touch of thoughtfulness. Some concerns over cleanliness and maintenance were noted, but overall, guests seem to have had enjoyable stays.

Most reviews do not mention cleanliness issues, suggesting satisfaction, but there are notable exceptions with complaints about dust, pet hair, and a dirty kitchen floor. This indicates room for improvement.

The location is generally praised for being within walking distance of Southwold and close to beaches. However, one review mentions the property being on a busy road, which may affect sleep quality for some.

Guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of comfortable beds and a spacious environment suitable for large groups and children.

The property is lauded for being well-equipped and of a high standard, with a particularly well-appointed kitchen. However, there are minor maintenance issues, such as a problematic loft hatch and a strong smell in the bathroom.

While a welcome pack is mentioned positively, there are not enough reviews referencing such gestures to accurately assess the consistency of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it's important to note that such amenities are not guaranteed.

The property was not cleaned properly. When we arrived, the kitchen floor was tacky with floor cleaner. Carpets had not been vacuumed and there was a large amount of dust and pet hair under the sofas. On moving a footstool we found a toy under it. Dusting had not been done - shelves, lamp bases, shades, towel radiators all dirty. Dining room chairs dirty and stained. When drying water on the ensuite bathroom floor with the bath mat it was literally brown with dirt. All this was discovered after having to wait for one and a half hours because the property key was not in the key safe, after a six hour journey with children. No apology or follow up from Original Cottages or Suffolk Secrets employee who came from an office literally five minutes down the road. Not mentioned in its listing, the property is on a busy road with principal bedrooms the front, so not a good nights sleep. Positives Lovely garden for the children. Near to beaches.
