The pretty and ancient Wensleydale village of West Witton is situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, between Leyburn and Hawes. A traditional old village made up of stone-built cottages and farmhouses, West Witton enjoys dramatic views of Penhill and its limestone scars, along with Bolton Castle, lush rolling countryside and the surrounding fells. The village boasts two pubs, one of which is a gourmet pub and has been awarded the Wensleydale Heifer 2006/07 AA 'England's best seafood pub' award, as well as a well stocked village shop and a pretty green.     The only thing we would like to see improved is that the main bathroom didn’t have a full shower so everyone used the one in the en-suite. The cottage was spotless and had everything we could have needed including plenty of board games and wine glasses and a log fire just in case of a wet day.
