Woodside Cottage in Scarborough receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the quiet location, ideal for countryside walks and exploring the North York Moors & Coast. The cottage is well-equipped, with a wood burner and quality facilities, although a few guests missed having a washing machine. The owners' attention to detail and the provision of welcome treats are frequently mentioned, contributing to a memorable stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as spotlessly clean and immaculately presented, with many guests highlighting the cleanliness as a standout feature. However, one review mentioned a smell and some dirt, which slightly impacts the score.

The location is praised for its tranquillity and proximity to both the coast and moors, with easy access to local attractions. The quiet setting and countryside views are appreciated, although the need for a car is noted.

Guests find the cottage very comfortable, with a cosy wood burner and quality bedding. The comfort of the beds and the homely atmosphere are frequently mentioned, though a few guests noted creaking furniture.

The cottage is well-equipped with quality facilities, and guests are generally satisfied with the amenities provided. However, the absence of a washing machine and a few minor maintenance issues, such as a creaking toilet seat, lead to a slightly lower score.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of welcome treats, fresh flowers, and basic supplies. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Cottage was spotless inside and out, and kitchen had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. Very high quality bedding, comfortable beds, uncluttered and comfortable. Lovely squashy sofa in the living room.

We have had a lovely week here and the 2 dogs loved it. Bed was very comfy. Kitchen is well equipped but I have one request for some cooking tongs! Otherwise a lovely week.

There was a log burner but the ashes had not been cleaned out for a while and we didn’t feel it was our place to do that. There was also a message to say heating had been turned off and electricity was expensive but we put the radiators on to try and keep warm. Surely all costs come out of our rental. Peeling wallpaper in bedroom and damp patches. Not a comfortable cottage after some of the ones we have stayed in with you.
