What our customers say about their holidays

Stayed for Christmas 2023. 2 families. A beautiful house in a beautiful area and location - really ‘oldy woldy’ and a lovely feel. Has everything we needed although a few niggles / things to suggest they are mentioned on the advert as below: - we were under the impression the picture of the front of the house was the property we had rented - not the side door entrance being our main one. - we were not told that it was 2 properties within one, or if so this was not made clear at all - privacy; after arriving and realising our entrance was the side door and the main picture of the front of the house was not ours, when sitting in the lounge we had numerous people walking past the windows whilst sitting there which felt very uncomfortable and not very private. - the hot tub was great and we loved it! But it had been moved from the photos and wasn’t on the patio. It was on the grass opposite and meant getting down the steps onto the grass with wet feet making it muddy feet. If it’s going this side it needs a mat or something rather than stepping directly onto grass Other than some of these things to suggest mentioning on the add we had a really lovely stay, great take away from carols plaice. Lovey touch with a welcome prosecco and Yule log - much appreciated. The property is gorgeous and even though the church bells rung a lot we got used to it and didn’t bother us after a while. Thanks again and happy new year :0)

Property surpassed our expectations. Beautifully presented and in the most idyllic situation. Great inventory as nothing I re-call we felt short of. On arriving just the absolute WOW factor. We came during a particularly cold spell but the house always felt warm, cosy and inviting. Although overall cleanliness was exceptional just a couple of minor things to point out although they did not in any way upset us or impact on our stay. There was a packet of mini cheddars behind the radiator in the snooker room and a balloon under the bed in the master suite. Only slight niggle was that there where guests in the other half of the house who had parked inconsiderately and had two vehicles parked bumper to bumper right across our front door which made it a little awkward for us coming in and out of the property. On seeing them we politely mentioned this to them and they moved the cars only for them to be returned the following day. Also although well within their remit to do so they used both front and rear access of their side of the property so crossed in front of our lounge window and our kitchen window which impacted on our privacy. Not your fault but i thought they may have shown some consideration for us as their neighbours.

Absolutely fantastic stay, really enjoyed our time at the shepherd hut.

Everything was clean upon arrival and we had more or less everything we needed. It was initially quite cold and the fire, whilst nice, didn't kick out a tonnes of heat. Once we discovered the little space heater, it made controlling the inside temperature much easier! The oven was a little bit difficult to use but we only used it once or twice in our four night stay. Accessing the site was super easy and the taxi service got us from the train station to the farm very easily. It was a lovely walk down into town, although a bit of a slog walking back, still very much enjoyed it! We were apprehensive of the outside bathroom but found it to be really good. The hot tub was absolutely gorgeous both in the day and in the evening.

Shepherds hut was lovely and so was the hot tub but we did have a few hiccups along the way.

The first was on arrival we went to the tearoom for the keys and we couldn’t find anyone we shouted hello and had a walk around. Looked up the phone numbers that went to not available. After 50 mins of waiting we messaged the Facebook page then someone finally appeared. They showed us to our hut but couldn’t show us anything as they said he dosent so that part and we figured the rest out for ourself. We did get a text of the owner later on apologising but for first impressions wasn’t brill. Apart from that the hut was lovely and more spacious than expected and the views from the hot tub were brilliant.

Extremely well equipped and comfortable house which is well placed for the lovely village and surrounding areas. Good food at both the Yew Tree and The Plough which are within easy walking distance. Snooker table and hot tub kept us all entertained and the fizz and tasty goodies on our arrival were a lovely touch. I highly recommend this property as it literally caters for everyone however there are a few steps within the house which could prove problematic for small children or anyone with mobility issues.
