    Ravenscar Holiday Cottages

With spectacular views and great walks, Ravenscar is a delightful destination in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire. Situated about 10 miles north of Scarborough itself, this coastal village lies on the route of the 109-mile Cleveland Way National Trail, and the Lyke Wake Walk terminates here. The village’s dramatic clifftop panoramas and secluded beach coves make this a spot of compelling beauty, and it’s a favourite among hikers and fossil hunters. There’s more history too - the Romans once used Ravenscar as a signalling station and Nearby Raven Hall Hotel was once home to King George III’s personal physician.

At Snaptrip, you’ll find a tempting range of holiday cottages in Ravenscar, some with luxuries such as hot tubs, cosy fire pits or games rooms. We have cottages that are pet friendly, have disabled facilities, and even swimming pools. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Clare - Verified booking

We enjoyed our stay in this clean and comfortable cottage.

I thought it was well laid out making good use of the space available. Many original features of the barn had been maintained and the owners have got just the right balance of modern and rustic. The cottage is perfectly situated for Whitby, Scarborough or the North York Moors. It was very quiet at night and we slept very well. The only noise issue during the day are the dogs who are kept kennelled opposite the cottage as they do bark a lot and disturb the peace and quiet during the day. Other than that we had no issues. The cottage had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The only things we had to buy were kitchen roll and extra toilet rolls, there is a good local supermarket just 10 minute drive away so this wasn’t a problem. WiFi is provided but not secure and not always reliable with the signal being unavailable for short periods most days we were there. You can pick up 4G in the cottage. Overall we had a great week and I’d definitely recommend this cottage to others for a relaxing week in a lovely part of the country.

We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at Bay View Cottage near Robin Hood’s Bay.

The setting is absolutely beautiful and the views are just incredible! The cottage is cosy, homely and very well equipped. It was also immaculately clean. There was always plenty of hot water available and the heating worked very efficiently. The kitchen has all the things you need to prepare and cook. The children also loved the climbing frame and slide in the lovely garden area behind the properties. The courtyard is very pretty and full of sun in the morning. It is also very spacious for parking cars and unloading luggage straight in through the kitchen door. There was no lugging of heavy items or boxes for any distance! The gorgeous beaches and pretty villages are a short drive from the cottage, though walkable for those who perhaps want to do so with dogs and without little ones. Our dog also felt very at home! Aldi and Sainsbury’s are an easy ten minute drive away. We absolutely loved our stay here and we will be back to enjoy more of the beautiful Yorkshire coast. Thank you so much to June and Alan for a fantastic holiday.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage.

We consider the following need to be improved : 1. More coat hooks in the bathroom with a suitable hook near the window for hanging a towel for when exiting the shower. A stool or chair to put clothes on, we moved a dining chair into the bathroom for this. The shower fitting does not stay in place but drops down so has to be hand held and then try squeezing soap out of the bottle with one hand, very difficult, 2. Coat hooks in the Bedrooms. 3, The small basins waste pipes gurgle and plop which become very irksome. 4. Lighting in the Kitchen casts shadows over the worktops when preparing food. 5. The Microwave is located in an awkward position and should be raised above the worktop so the door can swing over a plate or utensils in front of it. 6. The dining table was just large enough for 2 and would be inadequate for 4. Some of us like to read whilst having breakfast so more space on the table is essential. Some of the kitchen knives need replacing. handles falling apart and wouldn't cut hot butter!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchard Cottage.

We particularly liked its peaceful location and quick access to the beach at Boggle Hole. The cottage felt cosy and the heating was responsive. The kitchen is very well equipped and the quartz work surfaces are a touch of luxury. The bathroom is nicely fitted and has a powerful shower, albeit with restricted headroom. The comfortable beds are fitted with quality bed linen. One suggestion for improvement would be to replace the uncomfortable sofa; we improvised by using cushions from the other sofa to increase the padding. We enjoyed sitting at the kitchen window watching many species of birds using the thoughtfully positioned feeder, and especially appreciated visits from a great spotted woodpecker. We also liked sitting on the patio when it was sunny. We highly recommend Orchard Cottage, but do take note of the description of the stairs. A week goes by so quickly and it was all too soon that we had to leave.
