    Brayton Holiday Cottages

Brayton holiday cottages are ideal for those looking to explore Leeds, who are after somewhere slower-paced and quieter to retire to at the end of the day. The village of Brayton has a population of around 5,000 and is almost entirely residential.

Brayton village centre has all the local amenities holidaymakers could want: a general store, butchers, bakery, petrol station, pub, play-park, community centre, and hairdressers– so you needn’t venture far afield for the essentials. Nevertheless, the locale is well placed for transport links to the southern suburbs of Leeds. A kilometre away you’ll find the Brayton Barff woodland, famous for its springtime blanket of bright bluebells. A footpath to the summit presents spectacular views along the way and at the top, with this one of the few high spots across a primarily flat landscape. The paths are undulating but not tough, so walkers of all abilities and experience will be able to find an achievable route.

Holiday cottages in Brayton can be filtered through Snaptrip’s search system by feature, so you can find a home with high-speed WiFi, dog-friendly facilities, a hot tub or even a swimming pool, depending on your requirements.

What our customers say about their holidays

Claire Cottage is an ideal cottage for the winter .

We found it always warm and comfortable during the day and night . The cottage is fitted out perfectly and nothing has been forgotten. The 2 bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothes and the beds very comfortable . Each bedroom has a bathroom which is very useful . The living room has a comfortable 3 piece suite and a giant TV with all the required apps . The kitchen diner has a warm feel to it and we had a few meals and drinks in it . It also has patio doors leading to a small courtyard. We did not sit out as it was to cold but I bet it is lovely in the summer. The front door leads to a fenced garden which our doggo loved doing zoomies in . Beyond is a large field which belongs to cottage owners also useful for dog walking . I cannot find any faults with this cottage . We have stayed in a few Sykes Cottages now and this the best so far.

Undeniably the best self catering accomodation we have ever visited.

There were a lot of possibilities for problems as we were there with my 89 year old mum who does have severe arthritis and struggles with quite a few day to day tasks, Every single thing that could go wrong went right in a big way. Super clean but not off putting, super presented it felt like home. Lovely location but not too out of the way, Lots to see and do in the area and we were able to handle the hottest days in 2022 heatwave successfully as on the very hottest day we were comfortable staying in a home from home relaxing and doing our own thing. Welcome back on arrival was stunning (and delicious) So many positives and we can't wait to go back !

We have just had the loveliest stay at claires cottage.

A true home from home for us and our german shepherd Tracey and Paul have thought of everything and are on hand next door if needed. The walks are lovely in the woods and surrounding area selby is a lovely town and the local garden centre is a must visit if staying local . The welcome hamper of bread biscuits crisps milk and wine is amazing and treats for the dog as well as blankets towels cupboards stocked with everything. You want for nothing we dont usually do self catering but would come back here definitely. Thank you sykes cottages also for constant communication and your support as well as the lovely hosts with welcoming texts but no intrusion.

This property is probably the best we've ever stayed in.

It was warm very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The welcome pack was generous including scones, jam and clotted cream. Most welcome after our journey. We did get slightly lost on the way to the property our satnav sent us to a large country house in Gatefoth itself, we had to ask some local people for directions. We weren't far from where we should have been but did have to phone the owners for precise guidance to Claire Cottage. We got round the problem by putting the postcode for Hambleton in our satnav which cured the problem on subsequent journeys. Altogether an extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Not as quiet as we were hoping.

Road noise through the village and unfortunately the people in Thistle next door were quite noisy. Heating was uncontrollable and it was very hot which made it a bit uncomfortable. Couldn’t get the hob to work despite following the instructions. Great base for exploring York and Selby with the bus stop for both just outside the front door. Great enclosed garden for the dog which made it safe. Onsite parking which is also a bonus. Good WiFi if you need it. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen equipped with everything you need. Great welcome pack as well. Just disappointing about the noise levels.
