Guests say

See Glympse in Whitby is a well-decorated cottage praised for its high-quality furnishings, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the comfortable and cosy atmosphere, with a well-equipped kitchen and stunning bathroom. While parking can be challenging, the property's central location is ideal for exploring the town. Some guests noted issues with cleanliness in less visible areas and the steepness of the stairs.

Most guests found See Glympse to be exceptionally clean, with particular praise for the quality of the bed sheets and the overall tidiness. However, a few reviews mentioned areas under furniture and on top of wardrobes that were dusty, and one noted a kitchen floor that needed more attention, slightly lowering the score.

The location is frequently described as ideal and central, within a short walking distance to Whitby centre. Despite some parking difficulties, the convenience of the location for exploring the town and its attractions has been highly regarded by guests.

Guests consistently report that See Glympse is comfortable and cosy, with high-quality beds and a warm atmosphere. The property is equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay, contributing to the overall comfort experienced by visitors.

The property is well-stocked and equipped to a high standard, with guests appreciating the extra touches and the well-furnished rooms. Some minor maintenance issues, such as a bedroom door not closing properly and a dishwasher needing attention, have been noted but do not significantly detract from the overall high standard of facilities.

Many reviews mention the thoughtful extras provided, such as a welcome hamper and COVID-19 precautions like hand gels and towels. These touches have been well-received, although it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

Parking is tricky on street, just need a little bit of luck! Lovely well equipped property, very clean and decorated to an high standard. Fantastic for up to three couples or a large family

Unusually, there is no welcome pack, so don’t forget to bring the basics of milk and such with you. We had an unfortunate start to our holiday, with a cancelled train and then torrential rain as we arrived at the property. We were unable to get in for an hour as there were two keypads and we mistakenly tried the wrong one. We tried to contact Sykes for advice and they responded twenty four hours later. We were able to get through to another company who also let the house and they told us about the second box, which we had assumed to be a security light! It would be helpful if the faulty box was removed so that other visitors do not make the same mistake. It caused us a very stressful start to our break. Surely, If booking with Sykes, you should be able to contact someone in an emergency ?

The be bathroom drains were a bit whiffy which wasn't great. The location is great for walking to town but parking is tricky. No outdoor space except for a tiny courtyard out the back so in hindsight it wasn't suitable for the dog. Lovely decor, clean and comfortable house.
