There is also a sun room which is a great alternative space where you can soak up any sunshine, curl up with a good book and get away from it all and if the weather allows, you can enjoy time alfresco on the stylish outside patio area. The designated chef will be delighted with the kitchen which is well equipped for whipping up delicious food for the holiday party and when it’s time to serve up, the dining room is a great venue for hosting elegant dinner parties. This is somewhere you can imagine enjoying lots of long, leisurely meals while on holiday at Wagtails. When it’s time for guests to make their way to bed, choose from four well-appointed bedrooms which include three doubles (on the first and second-floors) and a second-floor twin room. There are two bathrooms and a downstairs WC. The beautiful golden beaches of Sandsend are within a short walk with village pubs and eateries. Beaches to check out include Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Port Mulgrave and Runswick Bay with the captivating town of Whitby within a few miles where you will find a great selection of shops and eateries as well as attractions such as The Dracula Experience, Whitby Abbey and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Other towns nearby worth visiting include Scarborough, Pickering, Malton. For a holiday home that’s close to the beach with spacious and well-presented accommodation, Wagtails has it all.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!
