Our neighbours, cows, sheep and pheasants where much better neighbours than humans... Lovely welcome pack, fruit cake was very tasteful. Wortley Hall gardens are worth the walk to, it was ashame the church in the village was locked. Worsbrough Mill and country park are only a 10 mins drive away, lovely walk around the resavoir. Interesting monuments etc in Wentworth Castle grounds (National trust) but there is a back way in, across the road, eventually up to some huge felled trees, it's not far from a caravan site, nice wooded path up. At home for a rest now.

Perfect for anyone who likes peace and quiet, with lovely walks straight out of the door, plenty of wildlife and great local amenities such as restaurants, shops and pubs. I donât think I would be able to find anywhere else that would even come close to how perfect this place feels for us. In fact my trips to the area these days start with me looking at the availability of the Bothy!

The cottage was so clean, comfortable and peaceful! We were surrounded by wildlife and enjoyed watching the buzzards. The local pub, The Wortley Arms is in walking distance, directions thoughtfully supplied by the owners and we would highly recommend their food. The welcome gifts of wine and cake was a lovely touch and the owners had thought of everything you might need during your stay. We are hoping to return sometime soon!
