Step outside the city walls and explore the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you can take in the breathtaking landscapes of rolling hills, picturesque villages, open countryside and wildlife rich forests. Enjoy a picnic in the grounds of beautiful Nunnington Hall or explore some of the many castles, abbeys and gardens in the area. The North York Moors National Park is also within reach by car, a paradise for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists and wildlife lovers. From moorlands, dales and coastlines to vast forests and ancient woodlands, this is the perfect spot to reconnect with nature. A stay in 202 Salisbury Terrace promises a memorable escape to Yorkshire, with something for everyone.

The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, its medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums(including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience. Summer and winter, there is something to fascinate the whole family. Explore York’s quaint streets and hidden corners, or take an excursion further afield to the Dales, Moors or the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. Yorkshire is rich in stately homes, with Harewood House and Castle Howard just two of several within an hour’s drive. A cycling city boasting two theatres, character pubs and great shopping, York has it all.

We were made to feel very at home with a generous welcome package, plus fresh flowers and even slippers and dressing gowns if needed. The property had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. If we came to York again, we would stay here.
