Guests say

The Wee Hideaway is a well-received holiday rental in Cupar, praised for its tranquillity, cleanliness, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as welcome packs and treats, and the property's proximity to local amenities and scenic walks. While the bed size and parking have been minor concerns for some, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests consistently mention the property's high standard of cleanliness, noting it is well-maintained and tidy, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming stay.

The property's location is celebrated for its central position to explore nearby cities and the local area's natural beauty. However, some guests noted a lack of nearby dining options, slightly impacting the score.

Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with a cosy living space and good amenities. However, the bed size has been a discomfort for taller guests, which is reflected in the score.

The property is equipped with necessary facilities, and guests enjoy the log fire and well-equipped kitchen. However, one review suggests that the self-catering description may be misleading, indicating room for improvement.

Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful personal touches, such as welcome packs and treats. While these are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The royal burgh and parish of Fife is a farming community on the River Tay, overlooking the swampy Mugdrum Island, where salmon fishing is popular. The ancient Lindores Abbey, located to the east, is a mediaeval and overgrown ruin that has yet to be discovered. The Lindores Abbey Distillery for whisky aficionados, the National Trust's Balmerino Abbey with its dramatic 13th-century ruins, and the Backhouse Rossie Estate, an RHS Partner Garden with rare flora, woodland trekking, and children's trails are just a few of the neighbouring attractions. The Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve in Morton Lochs has something for everyone, with a constantly changing panorama that includes seals hauling themselves out of the water, hungry birds looking for food, and a diverse array of natural treasures. The remains of Macduff's Cross, the Newburgh Sailing Club, and the Laing Museum, which houses antiquarian antiquities from Newburgh's Alexander Laing, are among the many attractions that lure people to the community of Newburgh. This lovely spot is ideal for guests looking for a relaxing holiday in the Fife countryside.

It has everything we needed for a comfortable short break and David & Gail also arranged perfect autumn weather this time as a bonus. Would definitely recommend !

  • Wendy

Enjoyed our stay in Newburgh, particularly the Lindores distillery experience and walking the coastal path.

  • Sam

Cosy, peaceful and extremely comfortable. The owners could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet bolthole and hope to return again someday.
