From its tranquil hill-top setting, Greenhill Cottage offers the perfect vantage point to soak up the beauty and peace of the Scottish Highlands in cosy warmth and comfort of this beautifully converted property.
With authentic exposed stone brickwork throughout and roaring log burner the open plan living area offers the perfect place to warm your feet as you sip a whisky and unwind. Under floor heating throughout the ground floor leads to a dining area and well-equipped kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher. On warmer days why not stoke up the BBQ and enjoy some al fresco dining whilst taking in the tranquil beauty of the glen.
The cottage offers three superking bedrooms (one on the ground floor, two upstairs) with crisp white linens and feather bedding all with en-suites complete with dressing robes and complimentary toiletries. The ground floor bedroom has a picture window that offers a particularly beautiful view of the glen that you can enjoy from your morning coffee and lie-in.
Nothing quite beats the beauty of the Scottish Highlands, and Greenhill Cottage is the idyllic base to explore the surrounding walks, enjoy a round of golf on the spectacular courses or even try your hand at fishing in the breath-taking beauty of the nearby Loch Glass. With bustling Inverness just half an hour away, historic castles aplenty and the temptation for a bit of monster spotting at Loch Ness, you and your guests will be in the perfect vantage point to enjoy Scotland at its best.
Greenhill Cottage offers the perfect haven of calm sat on a gentle hilltop overlooking the spectacular Scottish mountains yet is perfectly located just twenty-five minutes from Inverness airport and within five miles of major roads leading to the North Coast 500.
Behind the cottage is the glorious Ben Wyvis where keen hikers can take the 6.5km climb through forest and unique upland habitats to the expansive mossy summit likened to stepping onto a deep pile-carpet, it is the UK’s largest area of woolly hair-moss.
For a gentler day, why not enjoy a paddle at the local pebble beach in Evanton where you can amble through the forestry tracks in the community woodland and marvel at the glistening loch. If you’re searching for sand then we recommend a day trip to the nearby sandy beaches of Dornoch and Rosemarkie, enjoy a warming hot chocolate at the Rosemarkie Beach Café then take a trip to the Groam House Museum where you can discover a wealth of Celtic and Pictish art.
Golfers will be spoilt for choice with a plethora of links courses varying from the historic Fortrose and Rosemarkie, the 15th Oldest Club in the World to the internationally acclaimed championship course at Royal Dornach.
Just a thirty-minute drive will take you to Cromarty where you can climb onboard a RIB boat with Ecoadventures to discover the resident colony of bottlenose dolphins at Moray Firth, a truly magical experience for all the family. Whilst grown-ups won’t want to miss out on a visit to the local whisky distilleries Glenmorangie and Balblair where it would be remiss not to take advantage of sampling some of Scotland’s finest amber spirit.
No trip would be complete without a visit to the world famous Loch Ness for some Nessie spotting, with boat rides, watersports and local exhibition centre there is something for all the family at this famous beauty spot less than half an hour’s drive away.
Scotland’s vast and inspiring history can be found all around you with a range of historic sites to visit from the French-chateau inspired Dunrobin Castle, dating back to the 1300s, Culloden Battlefield, the site of the bloody last battle of the Jacobite Rising and the Castle of Mey renovated by HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother herself!
