Facilities are adequate, including combi microwave/grill, hob, central heating, fan heater and electric shower. A few issues to note: There was no information whatsoever about the cottage, or any instructions about using it, we had to sus everything out ourselves. We never saw the owner, the keys were in the door when we arrived and we just had to leave them in the cottage when we left. The central heating was great, but seemed to come on and off quite randomly; there were no controls in the cottage. The cottage is next to a busy fast road, which wouldn't have been a problem but the windows didn't close properly so traffic noise was an issue. The shower, as others have commented, was very feeble and needs replacing. Overall, Osprey Cottage has the potential to be an ideal country retreat, but in our opinion is in need of a bit of money spending and some TLC to bring it up to a 5 star standard.

The leather settee is far too large for the space and looks very old and battered. A smaller, more modern one would be much more suitable. The electric shower is very feeble; there are much better ones available. There were no instructions or information about anything such as the heating (no controls visible in the cottage), re-cycling, what to do or not to do - I have never been in a cottage before which did not have this. I took the cottage because of its location which is the only reason to give it any stars at all. A real shame as it could have been so much better with just a few tweaks.
