Guests say

Castlebrae in Jedburgh is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and well-equipped nature. Guests have enjoyed the property's garden, views, and its central location, making it an excellent base for exploring the Scottish Borders. While some guests have encountered issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these appear to be isolated incidents, with many guests planning return visits and recommending the property to friends.

Cleanliness has received mixed reviews. While many guests found the property spotless and well-maintained, a few noted issues with cleanliness such as dirty kitchen appliances and floors. These comments suggest room for improvement, but overall, the property seems to be kept to a good standard.

The location of Castlebrae is highly praised for its excellent position in Jedburgh, offering great views and proximity to local shops and attractions. It serves as a perfect base for both local exploration and wider adventures in the Scottish Borders.

Guests have consistently noted the comfort of the property, mentioning the comfortable beds and pillows, and the cosy atmosphere. However, some have reported issues with heating and seating areas being too cold, which slightly affects the overall comfort score.

The cottage is well-equipped and maintained, with a few minor maintenance issues noted such as loose toilet seats and lightbulbs needing replacement. The garden and dining area are appreciated, but some guests have suggested additional heating and clearer instructions for appliances.

While some guests have mentioned a welcome pack with bread, milk, and biscuits, there are not enough references to gauge consistent thoughtfulness across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts are provided for every visit.

The house was everything we wanted from this much needed holiday. Jedburgh and the surrounding area is stunning in Autumn. There was an issue with the central heating, one evening, but the Housekeeper-Mandy quickly contacted the Owners and the good lady wife couldn't have been more supportive and warmth returned!

The house was lovely. Unfortunately, we had the problem with the heating again. It went off on the same night aswell. Again Mandy, the Housekeeper to the rescue. It does appear to involve the signal on the thermostat. Again it was restored. But abit later the water was off. That was involving roadworks outside of the property as the neighbours were off too. I did begin to wonder if the house didn't " like" me !!

The layout of the property was perfect for us. Loved the kitchen diner. Beds were great. Bath and shower rooms spacious. View from back was lovely and from front straight into facilities. Great as a base to explore the borders.
