About this property

Enveloped by the gorgeous greenery and natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this charming 17th-century cottage is a perfect place for a peaceful break with your loved ones. Each and every room is bursting with character thanks to the thoughtfully restored original features including an exposed stone fireplace, beamed ceilings and flagstone flooring. For a day out, you could head to Llandeilo, just 8 miles from your doorstep. Explore the country houses, imposing castles and pretty streets filled with independent eateries and you’ll find a little something for everyone.

After a day out exploring, the cosy, traditionally styled living room encourages guests to unwind on the two soft sofas located in front of the feature fireplace and wood burner. Next door, the farmhouse kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you’ll need to rustle up a hearty home-cooked meal. You could sit up at the breakfast bar to enjoy a quick bite, or set the table in the dining room for a more formal affair. Just off the kitchen is a cosy snug area, furnished with armchairs and nods to the property’s past, such as the original bread oven and glorious kitchen range. All of the bedrooms are located upstairs on the first floor with beautiful wooden frames, including a king-size room, a double and a twin. Finally, the contemporary bathroom completes the set up boasting generous floor space, a double shower and a bathtub. Head outside to the large garden to dine alfresco, or let your dog stretch their legs on the lawn, a perfect place to be when the sun is shining.

For an active adventure, walks around the Usk Reservoir and through the Glasfynydd Forest (12 miles) are a great place to start. Here you’ll find serene spots to stop off for a picnic, a mighty array of wildlife and some fascinating flora and fauna. A fantastic family day out can be found at the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (20 miles) where you’ll be able to tour the deep underground passages and visit more than 220 life-sized dinosaurs at the world’s biggest dinosaur park.
