What our customers say about their holidays

    • Carolyna - Verified booking

My husband, dog and I loved staying here - it was so peaceful, a real getaway in a beautiful setting.

We loved the converted barn, firstly it was bigger than what you’d expect from the photos which is a first. It was extremely clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The welcome gift of Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, butter and milk was lovely. The layout was great - the amazing views of the countryside can be seen from sitting having breakfast at the table, on the sofa watching the Euros or sitting up in bed. We loved watching the resident ducks, chickens and goose in their daily routines particularly the ducks and goose following each other down to the pond every morning for a swim. We kept our dog on a long lead which he was happy with as the one time we let him off he moved closer to where the sheep were in the field below the barn and barked which scared them - he was promptly put back on the lead. We had trips out to Cardigan, Poppit Sands and Cenarth Falls - ensure you have £3 in cash for parking at Cenarth Falls as it’s worth it for a short walk along the river and also the gift shop is really lovely as is the owner who was very chatty and friendly. We went to Poppit Sands on a Monday when it was almost deserted. It is beautiful - well worth a trip. As we were on a relaxing holiday we didn’t want to go any further than half an hour away so didn’t explore Pembroke which was a bit further afield. We spent several days at the cottage reading and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. We bought all our supplies from Tesco in Cardigan and we have an EV so we paid the extra to charge it at the cottage which was very handy. Regarding earlier reviews, the owners are great and are on hand if you need them but leave you to your own devices. And also some previous reviews mentioned the track to the cottage - it is fine, just take it slow and no problem - the sensors go off due to folliage. Driving to the property there are single track roads through the village which are on an incline - again, take it slow and you’ll be fine like we were. It was our first holiday to Wales and we will definitely be back.

A beautifully presented house close to the beach and looking out over the inlet and park.

It was a bonus having the designated parking spaces at the rear but we were also able to park right outside the front on most days, although I imagine this would be more difficult in high season. There is a large car park next to the property where there is a popular creperie and the walkway leads round to the yacht club, harbour, a tea shop and a gorgeous beach, all no more than 5 minutes walk from the house. However this was all very quiet as we were there just as the schools started back. The house was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well furnished . The kitchen was well-equipped although a whisk and a pair of sturdy kitchen scissors would have been handy and the welcome pack was great. The icing on the cake was the lovely conservatory and, as my husband discovered, the Sky tv package included Sky Sports!! Plenty of golf, football and cricket to watch. Lots of little touches like the electric fans , tv in the bedroom and plenty of good quality hangers in the wardrobes. The location is ideal for exploring the area - we visited Kidwelly (try the Kidwelly Deli for freshly made sandwiches), Carmarthen, Gower Peninsula, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Fabulous beaches and beautiful scenery. Locally, we had a particularly good meal in the Coasting Pilot and also at The Ship Aground in Pembrey, just 5 mins drive away. We would recommend the house without hesitation. Thank you Sharon.

If you are looking for a complete escape, then Blaenffynnon Bach is the place for you - quiet, remote but with every comfort of home.

The cottage has been beautifully and sympathetically converted with plenty of room for a couple, well equipped with lots of storage. Bob and Rowena were lovely hosts - on hand if we had needed them but not intrusive in any way. They left us a lovely welcome basket of a small supply of tea and coffee, eggs and homemade Welsh cakes (the best we had!) and fresh milk and butter in the fridge. They also had a great selection of information about the area, various leaflets and a really handy AA map marked up with the barn's location in relation to various towns and places to visit - all very helpful indeed. Strong wi-fi signal in the property which was wonderful because as you can imagine in the Welsh hills and valleys, mobile reception isn't great! I wouldn't hesitate to revisit Blaenffynnon Bach! Thank you Bob and Rowena

The perfect house for a beach holiday - everything well found within.

Five minute walk to a fabulous beach. A beach which mutates completely with the tides and affords constant interest to kids of all ages. Take a net because there are crabs, shrimps and small fish to be caught, examined and returned to their environment. Take your cameras because there re great pictures also. Cafe and tea room are nearby a plus a great kids playground. Downside? This ain't no Tenby as its not geared for tourists. Some might say this is an advantage. Not much in the way of shops within walking distance. Not much in the way of souvenirs etc. However if you don't want to cook, there are some decent takeaways and a run down but well stocked Co-Op if you do. Would we go there again? Not 'arf!

Another fantastic stay at this absolutely beautiful cottage.

This time we brought the grandchildren and we all had a great time. The cottage is beautifully appointed and so well equipped with everything you could want for a great stay. The owner is so helpful, from a courtesy check in phone call, to the lovely goodies left for us (and the dogs!) and also the replacement of a broken kettle (on a Sunday within 2 hours of reporting it!). The cottage is in such a wonderful position, with direct access to the cycle path and a stunning beach within easy walking distance, we barely used the car! Three generations of our family all had the most fabulous holiday and won't hesitate to book again in the future.
