This attractive, semi-detached cottage, apposite the owner's home, is surrounded by tranquil countryside, on the outskirts of Llanybydder in West Wales. Garden View is a wonderful, contemporary property for a couple or small family looking for a Welsh rural retreat. Step into the property to be greeted by a well thought out, open-plan living room, which makes the most of the space, with lovely dark wood flooring and a neutral colour scheme with splashes of grey and mustard. The sitting room offers a corner sofa that the whole group can relax on while enjoying the view of the garden from the patio door or being entertained by something on the TV, while the dining table can comfortably seat the whole group and you can enjoy delicious meals together, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. The property has two contemporary bathrooms to choose from; a ground-floor shower room and a first-floor family bathroom with bath and handheld shower, so there shouldn't be any queues in the mornings, while upstairs you will also find the two bedrooms, which include a master king-size double with stunning original beams, a TV and Juliet balcony, overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside, as well as a spacious twin, which would be ideal for younger guests. A small market town straddling the River Teifi, Llanybydder is a typical old Welsh town with a small selection of shops, including a Post Office, bakers and farmers co-operative, and a few pubs and eating places scattered throughout its streets. It is the focal point for the surrounding farmers, and regularly holds horse sales. The countryside is perfect for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers alike. Set on the border between Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, Llanybydder is perfectly positioned to travel to the county town of Carmarthen with its busy shopping centre, with small individual quirky shops and the well-known high street stores, Merlin's Hill Centre and even a steam railway. The superb coastline of both south and west Wales is within 20 miles for great seaside days and coastal walks on the world renowned Welsh coastal path. An excellent central location to enjoy the south west of Wales.

Unfortunately not dog friendly upon arrival the owner stated she hated black labs not the warm welcome I was expecting the enclosed garden was one of the reasons I booked thinking our 11 yr old black lab could roam freely as he would be on his lead whilst we were out during the day there was no way he could escape or jump a fence at his age Having said that the property was nice and had everything you needed New Quay Devils Bridge and Brechfa Forest are not far away and are well worth a visit

It was spotless and extremely well equipped, everything you could need had been thought of. Plenty of cutlery, crockery and towels helped towards a relaxing stay. Very dog friendly with a lovely enclosed private patio and a dog walking garden area too. The property is really well positioned with mountains, forests and the coast all within a short drive, we had some lovely days out. Llanbydder has a few shops and Lampeter is a 15 min drive with a choice of supermarkets, shops and takeaways. Our highlight was relaxing in the amazing hot tub after a day out exploring, listening to all the garden birds and watching rabbits in the garden and red kites soaring overhead - bliss!
