About this property

Nestled between the bustling historic market towns of Mold and Ruthin is the endearing quiet hamlet of Cadole, situated on the edge of Loggerheads Country Park. Within its centre is this quaint stone-built, lead miners cottage, Woodside Cottage. Cadole is Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which offers a wealth of breath-taking views from many of its fabulous walking routes through the Clwydian Range. This charming holiday cottage is ideal for a couple seeking some quality time together and to explore North Wales with its glorious coastline and outstanding National Park nearby. Admire the peaceful surroundings before entering into the stone-built property with the interior retaining many characterful features. Step into the sitting/dining room, where an impressive exposed brick fireplace contains a woodburning stove, which offers a sense of tranquillity and is very welcome after a long countryside walk during the winter months. Look forward to curling up on the sofa and flicking on the TV to watch a film as the fire crackles in the background or settle at the well-appointed dining table to watch the world go by or to tuck into your delicious meal that was prepared within the kitchen. The kitchen enjoys a clever blend of traditional and contemporary, with the traditional units complementing the Smeg fridge and other appliances required for a self-catering stay, including a washer/dryer, an induction hob, electric oven and microwave. Wake up in the morning to the smell of freshly brewed coffee before heading to the local eatery Café Florence for a home cooked breakfast made from locally sourced produce. Purchase one of their homemade loaves and cakes before heading back to the cottage, passing the historic water mill, followed by a walk along the river. As the evening draws to a close, venture up the staircase to find a double bedroom, where you can drift off to sleep under the plush sheets and be delighted to wake up to the bright and airy décor. To the exterior is the quaint terrace garden, where table, chairs and a smoker/ BBQ offer an opportunity for alfresco dining whilst soaking up the sun during the warmer months. A stone’s throw away from the property is the local pub, where you can enjoy a well-deserved real ale pint after a long walk in the countryside with a welcoming charm to complement. Alternatively, visit one of the many local pubs, some only a short walk away or venture into the centre of Mold or Ruthin where a larger selection of pubs and eateries awaits, as well as shops for picking up the essentials. Chester lies slightly further afield, where even more amenities and shops can be enjoyed, as well as the medieval walls, Roman amphitheatre and Chester Zoo. For those interested in walking, nearby Loggerheads offers a range of walks, from easy to challenging and the well-known hiking destination of Moel Famau is also close by. Visit the harbour side town of Conwy to take in the views and sea breeze from the castle walls followed by a fabulous fish and chip super. Travel further up the coast to Anglesey where crossing Menai Bridge takes you to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Plas Cadnant elaborate Hidden Gardens and Plas Newydd House to view Rex Whistler’s famous mural. Head further afield to the Snowdonia National Park, which is home to a number of historical landmarks and superb walking opportunities. Just over a 30 minutes from the cottage takes you to the National Trust properties of Erddig and Chirk Castle or the aquaduct at Llangollen. Bring your partner to Woodside Cottage for a wonderful stay in this part of North Wales.

Mold is a busy market town resting just 16 miles away from the historic city of Chester and in a superb position for exploring the delights of North Wales, with easy access to Loggerheads, with its superb walking and breathtaking scenery.
