What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma - Verified booking

Arwel and Meryl were fantastic hosts.

The cottage was amazing and beautifully furnished and fully equipped. The only thing we needed was food. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided and there were lots of cleaning products, cloths and binbags. Upon arrival we discovered a beautiful cake and a hamper containing milk, eggs, yogurt and cheese. It really is the thoughtful little touches that make this place amazing. This was our first family holiday together for myself and my partner and his 2 children and my child. We all had an amazing time and wished we could have stayed longer. The children loved their visit to the farm meeting all the animals. We will definitely book again. Lots of lovely lasting memories for us were created in this fabulous cottage. Words are not enough to express how marvellous it is. I will miss the stunning views and drinking a coffee outside whilst looking over the fields. Meryl gave us a tour of the farm and the animals whilst Arwel and my little one loved to have football chats, especially since she is an Everton fan and Arwel a Liverpool fan, she especially loved showing off her tattoo. Thank you for everything.

We have stayed in many cottages in the Uk but never one as clean, well equipped and well maintained as Pendre Uchaf.

Meryl and Arwel definitely go out of their way to make your stay perfect. On arrival we were greeted with a roaring fire in the lounge, well stocked fridge, tea, coffee and even cake to welcome us, what a lovely surprise. The beds most comfortable, bathroom immaculate, kitchen equipped to a very high standard. The lounge too, very comfortable with plenty seating space Meryl and Arwel kept popping in to check that all was well, went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We were also given a tour of the farm, unfortunately no lambs as yet, but a few calves, loved every minute of it. Had heavy snow during our last night, Alwen was there to ensure we were safe. The morning of departure he cleared the whole area of snow making it easier for us to depart. Would highly recommend this most beautiful location for a break, we will definitely be going back there to sample more of their hospitality, this time with our grandchildren to enjoy the farm as well. Thank you once again for an unforgettable experience in your lovely cottage.

We had a brilliant stay at Pendre Uchaf a couple of weeks back (Tuesday April 2nd - Friday 5th).

Normally we would be skiing this time of year so, of course, it snowed up at Melin-Y-Wig. We arrived with our two boys (in their early 20s) and our dog. We could not have been made more welcome - including the very thoughtful provision of tea and cake upon arrival. Meryl and Arwel popped over from time to time to make sure everything was fine - and this was much appreciated. We all agreed our time spent at Pendre Uchaf was perfect and our hosts could not have been more attentive and caring despite having to work through the night to deliver up to 70 lambs. We were even invited across to the farm before we left to have a quick look at everything that was going on - during which my wife was invited to help deliver a lamb! All this and a bit of "Countryfile" work experience thrown in! A fantastic setting and a perfect cottage. We will be back. Thank you. Chris and Wendy Barnett (Kent)

This is an extremely well kept beautiful property, providing everything you need.

Plenty of hot water and a great shower. We stayed mid October and the house was lovely and warm. The bed is super comfy and large. Outside, the garden is secure which was perfect as we brought our little dog with us, the hot tub is amazing, such a clever idea to put it undercover, we had one day of rain and were still able to use it, there's nothing quite like sitting in a hot tub while it's raining, it was lovely! There's a Tesco close by, so close you can walk there. The property is situated in a good location for visiting other areas, and there are some lovely country parks close by to walk. We really enjoyed our week there and if we visit the same area again ( which is possible) we will definitely stay there. Thank you for the welcome pack ( the nicest we've ever had) and for allowing us to stay in your fab house..... It was Lush! Diolch x

      Loved our little stay here.

Beautiful house, very well decorated, stylish but comfortable. House didn't lack anything. In the heart of a cute little quiet town but not noisy. We explored a couple of the larger towns which made us appreciate coming back to Ruthin, some decent pubs, eateries and takeaways. Hot tub is perfectly clean and well looked after, wooden canopy so able to use when raining/snowing as we had. The only slight issue we found was with the gate not closing properly with the latch for the dog, it just happened to be particularly windy when we stayed and would blow open but minor and easily fixable. Never thought we'd pick a town centre location but glad we gave this a go! Some good walks for the dog a couple of minutes drive away or a park by the river for a quick leg stretch in the town. Dog friendly, decent garden, covered hot tub = perfect.
