Criccieth has retained it's lovely laid back seaside charm with its gorgeous beach and, of course, the castle. There are excellent places to eat, from simple fish and chips, to gourmet dining. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.

We had a minor issue with towels which the owner rapidly dealt with which was excellent. The cottage is perfectly located for the beach and town, weâve stayed here before and would stay again only we have now outgrown the cottage as kids are becoming teenagers. This place is perfect for a small family or a couple.

I feel the house needs some TLC, the house was surface clean but we all felt it needed a âdeep cleanâ and generally some tidying up of things. Utensils such as glassware were limited, 3 champagne flutes and no matching water glasses. We found the sofas to be really uncomfortable and felt footstools may make it more comfortable. We also thought the house would benefit from a coffee table, we have young children and they wanted to play with there Lego and be in the lounge with us. We had to contact the owners while we were there, they answered straight away and were really helpful. Overall, it is good value for money compared to other properties we have stayed at before in criccieth.

The property was well set out and it catered very well for our two kids. Both of the kids want to come back again next year, and my youngest was particularly sad to leave the cottage.
