The property was very clean and had everything we needed for a nice break. The area was quiet and the walk to town ideal. We would have preferred off-street parking and initially thought this was what was available. I think this needs to be made clear in the details and not after booking. The house was cold when we arrived and it took us a while to work out the heaters - there was no instruction manual available and that would have been helpful. We never really worked out how to put the heating onto any sort of timer so weâre constantly turning it on and off. The house wasnât very cosy despite having a log burner. We feel it would benefit from a rug in front of the fire and more ambient lighting in the lounge. We were also disappointed that there wasnât any welcome pack - even just the basics would have been nice so that we could have made a hot drink before shopping.

It provided all youâd need to enjoy your stay. The only suggestions was that the bottom oven didnât work for most of the stay then suddenly started to work the last couple days so we couldnât use not sure if it needs to be checked and Iâd also get child locks fitted to the 2 bedroom windows. It was so hot but we couldnât leave the windows open when they were sleeping 1 in each room before we went to bed as the window opened so wide that anyone could have got in or out. I also couldnât find the hook to attach the washing line to outside and found it difficult to find out if I needed to bring towels etc before one of the final emails came, it took me a while clicking through the site to find a number to call Sykes on and then when we arrived the phone number given for questions I rang a few times but no one answered. Thank you
Ben
Firstly there is quite a lot of mould spots around the window in the twin bedrooms. This isnât great with two young children sleeping in there. Secondly the smart meter is quite triggering, everyone has had to deal with soaring energy prices, so to be reminded of this on holiday, when youâve spent a lot to rent the house isnât very âHollidayâ For the company, sending a reminder email 24 hours before check out with a to-do list, in quite a stern tone isnât the best way to finish a holiday.
