What our customers say about their holidays

    • Michael - Verified booking

Overall very happy with our stay, the house & fittings were mostly very good especially the equipment & facilities in the kitchen, great for our large family.

We appreciated the kind gesture of fizz & cake etc, many thanks! However, on arrival we were very disappointed to see the grass so long, it obviously hadn’t been cut for several weeks. The outside shower was flooded & blocked by leaves, definitely hadn’t been checked for some time. This would have been useful to clean sandy boots etc after our beach trips. (Thank you for organising the cleanup of this area the day before we left) The windows are in need of a good clean & these issues spoiled our first impressions of the house. Inside - It was disappointing to see a broken blind in one of the bathrooms & the toilet seat in the main en-suite was worn with bare wood & we felt it unhygienic. It would also be useful to have a mirror in the master bedroom for hair drying. The other bedrooms were well fitted. We were very happy with the overall comfort of the house & the location was excellent. We enjoyed a lovely week in the house & in Abersoch. All of the above concerns were shared with Sykes Cottages office on Monday morning. Emma was very helpful & noted our comments- thank you.

The Coach House is an absolutely wonderful property - we loved everything about it, and the whole family enjoyed the experience.

The proximity to the High Street meant that my elderly in-laws could have their independence for a wander, and the proximity to the beach meant that I could get to see the sunrise within 5 minutes of getting out of bed! My only 'not so positive' comment would be the instructions around cleaning - there is an inference that the guests are expected to clean the house (I wonder whether this is a throw back to Covid) as the cleaner will only do a 'light clean'; whilst I always leave a holiday property tidy (emptying bins and stripping beds, wiping down the kitchen worktops), it did sound like I was supposed to do a 'thorough' clean ... which I do consider comes as part of the cost of the holiday. It may just need a tweak to the wording ... or may be I'm being too sensitive! We loved it, and if we ever win the lottery, we'll be putting in an offer to buy it!

The Brambles is a lovely home. It is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine etc, as well as little things like some staples in the cupboard. The log burner makes it really cosy at night. The location is perfect; just a few minutes drive from Abersoch centre and there are some lovely walks (you can walk down the lanes to Machroes beach) with stunning views of the sea, mountains and countryside. The Sun Inn, where you can get good food, is also in walkable distance. Ian and Pauline kindly left a welcome note and a bottle of wine for us on our arrival and gave us their number to contact if we needed to. Abersoch is a little gem, with beautiful beaches and breathtaking views. Don't just stick to the centre but explore the area. If you choose to stay here you won't be disappointed!

The property was in a great location and it was comfy for the short break we booked. When we first arrived it was very hot and there were no windows open so it was hard to get settled comfortably. I will say that the check in and check out times are not very family friendly. Check in at 5pm when you have small children to feed and a loaded car is just a little too late in my opinion and check out at 9am felt like quite a stressful end to our holiday. Check out at 10am which is more the norm would have made a massive difference to feeling like we could enjoy the end of our break a little more and not feel as rushed to vacate. For this reason I would be apprehensive to recommend to other families.

This is our third year booking through Aberosch holiday homes, so easy to do and staff always so helpful when we call. This is our first year at 20 Cae du and what a gem it was, location was fab right next to the Spar shop and short walk down Golf road to the main beach. Was concerned about parking on the road but there was actually designated parking to the side of the house which was perfect. The house had everything we needed, and provided high chair and baby gates for our 6 month old baby. My 9 year nephew loved the house so much, he wanted the next holiday makers cancelled so he could stay longer. So looks like we'll definitely be returning in the future.
