What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jane - Verified booking

Comfortable, modern and clean and generally a lovely place to stay.

The outside could do with some care and modernisation to be in keeping with the neighbouring houses and area as it was a bit of a heart-sink as we drove up. Of note, the information on line does not make it clear that the adjoining bedroom (twin) is literally that. Adjoined to another bedroom with no access to bathroom or landing. This might be less important if you have put your young children in there but absolutely inappropriate if you are booking this house for adult couples. We had planned to use the twin so our adult children and partners could have the doubles. It was inappropriate for us to have to go through their bedroom for the toilet and so I ended up downstairs in the single room with my husband on the floor on a mattress in there with me. There is also a problem with the window frame in the single room and the wind whistles all night. As my husband is elderly and I have physical health conditions it impacted on the enjoyment of our holiday; knowing we had to be in the single room in cramped conditions with the noise of the wind all night. We think this house is great for a family with small children but a no-no for adult couples.

This is a property that I have stayed in many times and will return to over and over again.

When I arrive and have unpacked I'm just happy. The best thing about the cottage is definitely the view. It has a wide window sill which I love to sit on and just stare out at the sea. The view changes constantly, on a clear day the views across the fields to the sea are beautiful and when the weather is bad they are dramatic and ever changing. The main bedroom has the same view and I love to sit in bed with my coffee and enjoy the vista. It is a short walk over to the coastal path and a quick descent down to Hell's Mouth beach. I have visited a various times of year but in the summer I enjoy body boarding in the waves. There is a lovely walk straight from the cottage which is a couple of hours and follows the coastal path finishing on the town beach in Abersoch. I always take my dog and she gets several walks a day along the beach. The cottage is always perfectly clean. When I am there I like to stay in and cook and the kitchen is well equipped. It is a short drive into Abersoch and I like to wander round the shops and pick up groceries there There is plenty of parking and I can even charge my electric car using the onsite charger.

Beautiful property ideally located and only 10 minutes walk from Abersoch town centre with plenty of bars and places to eat. We thought the house was exceptionally clean. The kitchen/dining area is well spaced and stocked with utensils for cooking in-house. Beds were very comfortable. The lounge was also very comfortable with good options for listening to music or TV with access to Amazon and Netflix for entertainment. The rear garden is an excellent sun trap with great provision of garden furniture. A very peaceful residential area. Would not hesitate to return. For anyone with an electric vehicle there are two electric hook ups at Green Pastures Caravan Park. Its a 20 minute walk from the cottage. We did find some convenient and free charging points at National Trust car parks, which is handy to top up.

Basic items were missing - bath mats, oven gloves (surely these 2 items are basic health and safety), tea towel, bottle opener, hand soap (not ideal in covid times).

There was no where to wash/wipe sandy feet as entering the house (I notice other houses has an outside tap at the front). No recycling bins - again other houses had these.... All doors are stiff and only lock with force. Main bedroom on floor 1 has thin white curtains which do not block the light from the street light directly outside the window and of course the natural day light at 5am. Very little sleep was had - not what I want on a holiday. The cot ordered was not left as agreed - I had to drive to pick one up from the local office and was rudely asked to bring it back without a thought for the inconvenience this caused me. All these things added up to a most un-enjoyable stay and we will NOT be booking again. Abersoch itself is lovely but this house has truly let you down.

Walking on the beach, drinking aperol and eating plenty! We have had a lovely week of staying at 79 Cae Du. After 15+ years of coming to Abersoch, it is without a doubt the best equipped and well thought out place we have stayed. We really appreciated all the homely touches and Monty enjoyed his welcome biscuits. We have had a great weather week and so really enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden in the evening. We booked and ordered food delivery from Asda(although we subsequently saw a Waitrose delivery van) so there is a choice. We alao booked Zinc and The Cove for evening meals wellnin advance(alyough i indersyNd Zinc terrace is being chamged to drinks only from next week.
