What our customers say about their holidays

    • Paul - Verified booking

Just come back from a brilliant week at Stable Cottage.

Paula and Johnathon have gone "all out" in providing a very nice, comfortable and extremely well equipped place to stay (whatever the weather!!). Everything was as described together with lots of little extras that you would normally expect to have to provide yourself with other cottages. Little things like providing enough dishwasher tablets and all cleaning products for the duration of our stay, together with an excellent welcome hamper were very appreciated and shows how far they have gone to make your stay the best. High quality bedding and towels were also appreciated, there were even bathrobes though we did not use them on this occasion but still a very nice touch. We spent many hours in the evenings in the hot tub which had 2 lounger style seats in it - handy for us as there were only 2 of us there so no fighting over the best seat in the tub!! We also used the games barn and hideaway when we had our chillout day when the weather was not as pleasant and we didn't fancy spending the day in the rain. If you like animals the family dogs and cats will randomly come round from the owners neighboring property and visit for lots of fuss and cuddles, and we had the pleasure of seeing Molly the pony for most of the week in the fields opposite. Lots of birds to watch feeding from the various feeders and bird tables while you sit in the dining room as you drink your morning coffee or tea. I think that one of the best ways you could say how good Stable Cottage is, would be to ask if we would go back again in the future - to which the answer would be "Absolutely!!!" Thanks Paula and Johnathon, your Cottage is a credit to you both and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. Look forward to coming back again in the future. Paul and Ali

We absolutely loved our stay here!

The place was spotless, and comfortable. We loved all the animals and had made good friends with the horse and Peaches (the cat) by the end of the week! The hot tub was just divine, and we booked the perfect week in the middle of a heat wave so we very much enjoyed the sun loungers during our stay. The honesty shop was also a lovely feature. The barns that have been converted into chill out rooms are just gorgeous and the pictures on here don't do them any justice as they are more gorgeous in real life! The only downsides we had were the shower that wouldn't drain properly and kept over flowing onto the floor. We found a plunger at the property that we used everyday, but didn't quite fix the problem. Also the silver drain cover of the shower kept coming off as the water levels were high and we kept stepping on a sharp bit under the cover. A minor problem, and did not by any means ruin our stay. Another small issue for us was the feather cushions and duvet which set off my asthma. It's our own fault for not checking beforehand, but it would be good to have this listed on your listing. We went to local asda and bought our own pillows. It was too hot for a duvet anyway so we just used the blanket. It was no drama and again didn't put us off! We had a beautiful relaxing week and we would definitely come again!

      In general, all was great.

Dave was very helpful and responsive when we had a couple of minor problems (key safe breaking; alarms going off). The family room is the real 'seller' in this property. It's a lovely space for a large group of people to enjoy a meal and just generally to be together without getting under each others' feet. The hot tub was a bonus too, and the house has a lovely feel to it. The views over the horizon to the sea were gorgeous and the children loved the games room. We were surprised to learn that we would not have access to the house before 5 pm on the day of arrival as this seemed rather late, but Dave was on site and was accommodating about this. We also thought it a tall order to vacate by 9 am on the day of departure - especially when young children are involved and chaos reigns! All in all, however, it was a very good experience in a lovely holiday house.

Super House, Super Facilities, Super location.

This property has been modernised by Dave the owner who we met on arrival, he has made a fantastic job of renovating the property which we stayed in for a week. We were a party of 8 adults (4 couples) and we literally wanted for nothing, Dave even provided us with two bottles of wine on arrival. The house was clean and tidy with fresh bed linen and towels. The kitchen was well equipped including Fridge, Freezer, Combi Oven, Oven and Dishwasher. The kitchen is also eqipped with an Arger, but unfortunatel this wasn't working when we stayed due to damage from previous occupants (it wasn't needed) The weather was miserable when we stayed, but we still found plenty to do including Velocity 2 the fastest Zip Wire in the world about an hours drive from the house. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it, we will be going back at some point.

What a little gem of a place tucked away in lovely countryside on a private courtyard of the discreet owners property.

Perfectly situated on the Llyn Peninsula with easy access to coastal walks, beaches as well as local towns such as Pwllheli and Criccieth. The property was furnished to a high standard and immaculately presented with lots of extra special touches such as a very generous welcome pack, bathrobes and even an honesty shop with essential supplies. The hot tub was a great way to relax after dark and watch the stars if you’re lucky enough to have a clear night sky! The Hideaway was a nice area to sit with a glass of wine in the evening and we had great fun playing pool in the games area. Paula and Jonathan were very attentive and friendly hosts and have put a lot of thought and energy into creating a lovely place to spend a break away and we would highly recommend this beautiful little cottage in North Wales.
