About this property

Enjoy the sound of silence in this peaceful holiday cottage near the Preseli Hills and Cardigan Bay. Cartws is one of three superb Felin Wrdan holiday cottages located in the quiet village of Eglwyswrw, a short drive from Newport, Poppit Sand, and at least a dozen other spectacular beaches. Walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horseriding are popular, as are local attractions like Folly Farm, the Blue Lagoon at Bluestone, and St David's Cathedral. Cartws sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is well-equipped for family and couple self-catering holidays in Pembrokeshire.

Cartws is one of three beautiful holiday cottages on the Felin Wrdan Estate in North Pembrokeshire. Luxuriate on your private terrace or curl up in front of the log burner, enjoying spectacular views of the Preseli Hills and high quality comforts. The two-bedroom holiday rental sleeps four people with self-catering facilities that suit couples, families and friends. The owners have done a superb job of converting this former farm building into a peaceful place where you can enjoy the breathtaking beaches of Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay and the gorgeous countryside of West Wales. Cartw is in Pontyglaister near Crymych, ten minutes from the coast and a short stroll from the River Nevern.

Guests love Cartws not only for the superior accommodation but also for the location. It's incredibly peaceful and safe for children with wonderful walks from the door, including a nearby meadow where you're likely to see herons and kites. It would be easy to spend all day within a hundred metres of the cottage, lazing in the garden or wandering down to the river. It's ideal if you need somewhere you can simply stop and unwind, breathing in the fresh air and immersing yourself in the sound of silence. However, should you choose to explore, you'll find a vast variety of sights and activities to enjoy. Spend a morning in St Davids, admiring the cathedral and browsing the boutiques and galleries before tucking into a leisurely lunch. Newport's Monday morning farmers' market is a favourite with locals and visitors, with supermarkets and other amenities accessible in Cardigan.

Visitors who come to this part of Pembrokeshire often do so for the scenery. Spend happy days walking the Ceredigion Coast Path or mountain biking in the Preseli Hills. Surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, coasteering, fishing and swimming are all easily accessible, as are golf and horseriding. Newport, Poppit Sands, Mwnt, Penbryn, Tresaith, Cwm yr Eglwys and dozens more beaches are within an easy drive. Local attractions include National Trust properties like Cilegerran Castle and the Tudor Merchant's House in Tenby, and the kids will be thrilled to go to Folly Farm or Oakwood.

Holiday bookings at Cartws are available in all seasons with Monday and Friday changeovers. A discount is offered for couples or individual guests who only use the downstairs bedroom.
