Sunny Cottage in Brecon offers a delightful stay with stunning views of the Black Mountains and surrounding countryside. Guests have praised its cleanliness, the friendly and helpful owner, and the comfortable accommodations. While some have noted the proximity to a noisy road and a lack of small amenities, the overall experience is highly recommended with many expressing a desire to return.
The cottage received high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it was 'spotlessly clean'. This indicates a very high standard of cleanliness maintained by the owner.
The location is generally appreciated for its excellent views and proximity to interesting places, although one review mentioned a noisy road. The balance of feedback suggests a very good location with a minor drawback.
Comfort is highlighted as a strong point, with the property being described as comfortable and having ensuites to the bedrooms. The views and warm welcome also contribute to the overall comfort.
Facilities are well-regarded with most mod cons mentioned, but there is a note on the lack of 'extras' such as cleaning supplies and local information. Maintenance seems good with no negative comments on the condition.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the basic amenities provided, so it is not possible to score this category. Guests should note that while the owner is helpful, extras should not be expected.

A picturesque Welsh village, Glasbury is also known as Glasbury-on-Wye. Located north of the Black Mountains and just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park, the village serves as a key crossing point on the River Wye, which once divided the mediaeval counties of Brecknockshire and Radnorshire. The Harp Inn, a tavern that has been around since the 18th century, can be found in the centre of town, as can a gas station stocked with all the basics. Hay-on-Wye, a nearby mediaeval market town, is well worth a visit due to its reputation as the site of the world-famous Hay Festival of Literature, making it a favourite vacation spot for bookworms and those looking to take in the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery of the Wye Valley.

The road to the front can be a little noisy first thing in the morning but not a great problem. The cottage is purpose built and is in good condition with most mod cons. The two ensuites to the bedrooms are a bonus. The cottage is in a good location to visit many lovely Welsh towns. Hay on Wye Market is a must and Talfarth is quaint and small but has an amazing butcher/deli and greengrocers/general convenience store. I would highly recommend a stay and would return.

View of the Black Mountains was impressive. The owners live on site and were there to greet us and make us welcome. Would return again.
