What our customers say about their holidays

    • Judy - Verified booking

Beautiful little cottage, private, secure, plenty of natural light.

We were there during a bitterly cold snap but the electric radiators took the chill off very quickly and then the wood burner took over and we were cosy throughout the cottage and throughout our stay. Facilities good enough but maybe time for some upgrading in the shower room. Water pressure good (and I have thick hair to wash) and heated towel rail great. Kitchen adequate, microwave a bit precious in that it'll do, say 4 minutes, then shut down for 5. We got the hang of it! Oven good but not a fan oven. Washing machine a very helpful addition. Freezer section of fridge iced up but so cold outside, it didn't matter. The only downsides were the bed which, in our opinion was verging towards uncomfortable, the quilt and pillows, we thought poor quality although good for laundering and the sofa seemed to push us both into the centre ... cosy I suppose! TV good, no streaming I don't think. A nice little table and chairs for eating etc. All well arranged and attractively set out within the space. Outside area good and parking good. Overall it was near perfect for a short break but glad to be in my own bed. Oh, and Mark is a fabulous host. Thank you Mark for your warm welcome.

The Threshing barn is set in a lovely village location perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday. It is about 20 minutes to Truro and Falmouth and also to Porthtowan beach, where you can book surfing lessons and there are cafes/restaurants, beach shops and toilets. As a family of 4 (children aged 15 and 12) the size of the barn was ideal and with 2 bathrooms there were no arguments! I would suggest some hooks to be added in the bathrooms for dressing gowns/ towels to be hung. There were plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped!The outside space is lovely and well-maintained, the patio area has seating and a BBQ - unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to enjoy the outdoor area! There is also two car spaces and a games room with a table tennis table, this area is shared with the cottage on the grounds. We had an issue with the oven the day after we arrived and customer services were very efficient and it was sorted the next working day and It didn't stop us from having a wonderful holiday at the Threshing Barn.

Another lovely stay at The Threshing Barn. My family enjoy knowing the creature comforts that The Threshing Barn offers. Log burner, comfortable seating, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine and washing machine. The bedrooms are perfect, both with en-suite bathroom facilities. And of course, the wifi is very convenient although I understand some people may prefer to be away from this.Locally and within walking distance, you have a wonderful, friendly pub and a great organic farm shop.We love staying at the property for the convenience of it all.

As my hubby likes to cook he was really impressed with the array of kitchen intensils.

He only had to unpack the instant pot. Only two real snags was it was freezing down stairs as there is no heating bar two very small bathroom radiators. Also couldn’t understand why there wasn’t a light switch to turn the downstairs light on from the top of the stairs. I know you say there is a curtain dividing off the the small bedroom but a thin wall would be preferable to many people. However, despite that we had a wonderful stay. One night I even got 11 hours sleep which is unheard of for me. Thank you for the cream tea such a lovely touch.

We’ve had such a lovely time at Jobs Cottage. It’s been a real home away from home and a brilliant base for exploring SW Cornwall. It was our dog’s first holiday and was great to be in such a good location, where we were able to pop back in between trips as a ‘re-set’ and a rest from the beautiful weather. Jobs cottage has been beautifully decorated, is really well equipped and has such so many little details that give that homely touch. I’m sure everyone that stays here, will have a lovely time! Thanks for letting us stay, we hope to be back again!
