What our customers say about their holidays

    • John - Verified booking

Typical of most estate agents, the photos of this apartment make it feel that it is bigger than it actually is.

It is also showing its age here and there – a bit of TLC would not come amiss. Whilst OK for my wife and I, it could be quite cramped with 4 adults or 2 children. Unfortunately, the instructions for opening the main barrier to the estate were rather confusing, as two pin numbers were given, but only one is correct. Also, the remote key fob does not work as this system was discarded by the estate some time ago. The hot water temperature was too high, making taking a shower a bit perilous as there seemed to be only two settings, very hot or super hot! I am 6ft 6 inches tall, but found the rooms to be OK, apart from the main bed being very low on the floor. Unfortunately for us, the weather was not that good with a lot of rain and also quite cold, the radiators were just about adequate. Because of the weather, we could not really make use of the two balconies, but no doubt in the summer they would be very good. The kitchen was well fitted with adequate tools, but a larger frying pan would be good, especially as we like eating a lot of fish! We ate in the Cove Restaurant, just below the estate, on our first night and the food here was very good. We did not make use of the leisure facilities, but the apartment/estate, overlooking the beach, is in a good location and the road into Maenporth not too bad. Overall we had an enjoyable week in this apartment, whilst reasonable value at this time of year, not sure we would like to pay more in high season.

      Everything was really great.

Everything was as advertised. The house is very nice and comfortable. It has everything you need. The kitchen is fantastically equipped. The washing machine is great, it has many programs, so it was possible to wash cost-effectively. There is a Slow-Cooker, Toaster, kettle, fridge with a small freezer compartment. Cleaning tools, such as a vacuum cleaner, which comes in handy if you come with two dogs and you need to clean up the sand brought from the beach. The bed is very comfortable and provides a relaxing sleep. Quiet neighborhood. The owners are very nice and friendly and helpful. It is absolutely not disturbing that they live in the house next door. Everything is very close if you want to go on a trip. The view is fantastic. My favorite is that I could watch the sunset from the sofa in the living room when it was a little cooler outside. All in all, this is the place you don't want to go home from and you will definitely come back.

Lovely light airy apartment , spotlessly clean with a lovely decking area to sit and enjoy a morning cuppa.

A nice central area to go visit lots of lovely places. Can highly recommend a trip on the ferry to the beautiful StMawes with a lovely meal at The Rising Sun. Or go to one of the many lovely beaches within a 40 minute drive such as Gyllanvase, Pentewan beach, St Ives-Porthminster beach . There's also the magical Lost gardens of heligan. Just a few things that could improve our stay would have been- a small welcome pack of milk , etc as it was quite late when we arrived. We appreciate the space in the apartment is for 2 but the shower cubicle is small particularly for guys, and the bed is quite small also and there was no dishcloth to wash up with. It would be helpful to have a visitors book with recommendations of where to eat , visit etc as if you don't know the area this would be help. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay .

Recycling options IN the flat would be preferable.

The heating was an issue. As in, we couldn’t turn it off completely and the flat was BOILING when we arrived. And never were able to turn it off to zero during our stay in July. On the up side, we loved the complimentary beer, popcorn and shower gels/soaps. The flat was tidy and fairly clean. Duvets were too much given the central heating options.. so sheets would be good too. No views whatsoever out of the windows, which were filthy but clearly difficult to access and so clean. (Seagull and Pidgeon poo) Advice on how steep the staircase is would be a good heads up too. I have cancer and the stairs were a struggle. Super Steeper than the norm.. but I managed ish. Thank you for the teas and coffee sachets.. All in all in served it’s purpose. And for that we are thankful. TVs in each room was a blessing too. Thank you

Mike and Terri are two lovely amazing people, we really enjoyed our little chats with them.

From the very 1st second we walked into out little holiday home we fell in love with the place the view just bowled us over. To enjoy the horse and the goat's in the field each day giving them their treats was a delight as both myself and Nicki love animals. Each day we headed out somewhere different as it was so easy being in the middle of so many beautiful places which were so easy to drive to. The week just went in a blink. My Nicki so fell inlove with the place she shead a few tears leaving. We both decided then and there we shall definitely be returning at the 1st opportunity when we get a week of again. We would both love to thank Mike & Terri for an amazing holiday break, and look forward to seeing them both again. ❤️ xx
