What our customers say about their holidays

    • David - Verified booking

The property is beautifully sited and easily accessed from the A55, the Felinheli Flyover and the direct road into Caernarfon.

The convenience of a large, well known supermarket and service station is brilliant as well as the easy access to the diverse and lovely shops around Caernarfon itself. The property is very comfortable and was warm and welcoming when we arrived which was much appreciated. The various local delicacies left in the kitchen were much enjoyed. As we were staying for 4 weeks - we were between house moves - it was a real treat to be able to relax in the Apartment and yet play with the dog in the garden. There was plenty of information available about visiting local and national treasures and it would be wonderful if more detailed provision of local dog walking/play areas, as well as play areas for children, could be included too. The kitchen was well equipped and instructions were very useful - thank you. I did advise the Cleaning Crew that the on/off switch on the oven seemed to be prone to non functioning when switching off - perhaps there is a knack to that. It was wonderful to be able to launder and dry clothes - thank you for this facility - a massive help. The utility room was well endowed with implements etc for looking after oneself including a vacuum cleaner which I did not want to use on the wooden floors and would have preferred to use a long handle broom. The weather was balmy and calm for most of the time that we were in residence but this last week of ice and freeze has illustrated that it might be prudent to have some gritting salt for the long sloping garden path down to the lower road and another for the sloping path and steep steps up to the top road. A couple of friends came over to have tea - and to check out the apartment - and they loved it - both wanting contact details so that they can refer their visiting family and friends to the location. All in all, thank you for a lovely, comfy, warm, easily accessed apartment which helped to make my 4 week stay very relaxing - especially as I was also recovery from bronchitis too! A great sojourn!

Although we enjoyed our holiday in the apartment we were disappointed with certain aspects of the cleaning.

The fridge and microwave hadn’t been wiped out and cleaned properly. There was quite a lot of food presumably left by previous occupants in the cupboards which we had to move, throw some out as they were well out of date and clean the shelves ourselves so that we could make use of them. In our view the bathroom had had a superficial clean, the toothbrush holder was a disgrace and we didn’t use it. The plug in the basin was also pretty horrid! The shower itself needed a ‘deep’ clean!!! We were a little taken aback to find these ‘problems’ with the cleaning as the previous reviews for the property had made mention of the cleanliness and we would have thought that with the present Covid 19 pandemic where the emphasis is on cleanliness amongst other things we were not anticipating any problems in this direction. We have stayed in a number of Sykes properties throughout the UK and have never found it necessary to make any derogatory comments before! It’s up to your company whether you publish our feedback.

I thought going with a company such as sykes would be a safe bet the day before we arrived we were sent a msg to say there would be scaffolding around the building I thought that was Really.

Good they let us know when we got in it was a case of ooh this is lovely and quirky upside down lay out but it was really quite dirty toothpaste spat up the bathroom cabinet, layers of dust everywhere and a chip box under sette the oven microwave and fridge were also dirty the light in the bathroom had the cover hanging dwn so bare wires I e mailed sykes Fri there was no answer till I actually called them on sunday I sent over all the pics and they said I would hear from the owners that was 2 wks ago no answer I held off review as I thought it only fare to hear the explanation looking at the guest book there were 2 or 3 who said dissappointed that they'd had no answer I think we were first of the season as last entry was December 23 so Id of thought it would of been a good first clean I'm dissappointed with Sykes as they advertise the property

We had a lovely warm welcome from the owners together with a lovely selection of Welsh goodies.

The apartment was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. We were very lucky with the weather and had a bit of a September heatwave. It was lovely to sit on the decking and watch the sunset over the Menai Straits. The view will be even better next year as the owners advise that they have permission to cut back the huge conifer in next door’s garden. We both love Caernarfon and Preswylfa apartment is situated very conveniently for a quick walk down to Morrison’s for groceries. It is a pleasant walk into the main part of Caernarfon with its selection of independent shops, restaurants and cafes and of course the magnificent castle. You must sit outside The Anglesey Arms and watch the sunset. Lovely spot to watch all the seabirds wading for food once the tide goes out. We will definitely be back.

Myself and my wife enjoyed our little break in Morfa Nefyn.

We found we really appreciated the little touches. We arrived and it was clean mith fresh milk, bread and biscuits left for us on our arrival. We weren't expecting that. It was super spacious with a comfy corner sofa and a lovely modern bathroom with a rain type shower. We ordered takeout most of our stay so didn't use the kitchen much but it was perfect for us. The location was a good base for trips out and the beach at morfa nefyn was ideal for dog walks in morning and evening. We would definitely return. Also for anyone concerned about the "first come first serve" parking In the description. We found it to be ample and there was always 1 or 2 spaces. Thank you
