What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma - Verified booking

The apartment is in a good location to the seafront & shops.

On arrival i found entering the building disappointing...as you can smell smoking in the foyer and up the stairs. Then on entering the apartment i felt claustrophobic due to the heavy fire doors both being shut to the bedroom and lounge. The apartment was very clean & tidy. First night i did not sleep due to the bed being too firm and the duvet being extremely hot. I contacted the owner who rectified the issue with a summerweight duvet. The sofa is also very firm! The hob takes forever to heat up and the oven does not cook to time. It took 3 hours to cook a roast for 2 people. Also...as the previous guest mentioned..you can hear the guests upstairs walking around their apartment day & night and entrance doors banging. Enjoyed out weekend sightseeing. Outdoors was more enjoyable than being in! Come Monday morning we had drilling and banging all day. We stuck it to the Wednesday then saw a planning proposal for a conversion on the property next door on the lamppost outside. We were not happy the owner was aware of this yet happy to let his apartments out. It clearly says on the proposal works to be started the week we was there. Contacted the owner who denied it and made it difficult to get a response from. We ended up reporting the issues to Sykes who were very supportive in the matter. We left and received a full refund. Would not recommend this place at all as in the description it states its relaxing. We found it far from relaxing!

The flat is great as a base and has everything you need.

The kitchen is well-equipped, although it took a while to figure out how to work the oven, but we got there in the end! If anyone is reading this and wants to know how to switch the oven on, you need to select the hand symbol on the timer. There’s a dishwasher and an under-counter fridge. The small dining area is comfortable, and the living space has a large sofa and a modern TV. Both bedrooms have super comfortable beds, wardrobes, and dressing areas. Everything was absolutely spotless when we arrived. The flat is up two flights of stairs, but they’re not too steep. The laundry room is outside and shared with other guests. It would be helpful to have a small stick vacuum or long-handled brush available, as the Henry vacuum provided is quite heavy and needs to be carried up the stairs. Check-in and check-out times could be a little earlier and later, respectively.

The apartment was clean and welcoming.

The TV and wifi worked well. The furniture was new. I found the pillows hard and bulky and the bed was firm and so I did not sleep that well but other visitors may not have the same problem. We could hear the people upstairs moving about at night and on the weekend there was some noise from outside on the street. The apartment was near the seafront and not far from the railway station. I had purchased a weekly car park ticket before travelling but we had difficulty on arrival finding a car park space - perhaps because of being more busy in the school holidays? In the end we did find a space in the Quay long stay car park and decided to leave the car there all week and use the train to get around, which we found relaxing.

This was a lovely apartment but it did have a couple of little niggles The heating was a little confusing and took a bit of keeping on top of to keep the place warm (it was November so I would have preferred a setting to keep it on) And the sofa wasn't the most comfortable thing to sit on which made cozy nights in a bit of a chore But as far as location it was perfect, just minutes from the front and the town and the trains are really good for a night out if you want a change of scene Parking is easy if you buy the weekly pass from the council and the carpark directly opposite is good for 4-hours so no rush to get up and as long as you come back after 2pm you are ok for the rest of the day as you only pay up to 6pm

Tony the owner was in contact with us from the very start and gave us lots of useful information about the local area etc.

Everything you need is in the property. Great little touches like beach towels and a lovely welcome pack which even included the local paper. Easy walking distance to the beach, harbour and all.the shops. Lots of lovely places to see within an hour drive. Lyme Regis and Paighton Zoo were our favourites. Only a couple of slight niggles, think we only managed to park twice in a week on the road outside. No big drama though as we found parking round the corner and this does not affect your stay at all. The other thing is larger towels for the bathroom. This is just personal preference and again will not affect your stay. Thank you again Tony
