What our customers say about their holidays

    • Shelley - Verified booking

This is our second stay at The Nook the only property we have stayed in that we have ever returned to.

The property is spacious and airy with beautiful views. It is ideally situated for everything you need gorgeous beach, several places to eat, friendly pub and supermarket all within very easy reach. I have to say the bed is probably the comfiest bed I have ever slept in - personal taste I know but worth mentioning. During our stay the weather was not too kind to us and we had a couple of wet days which cannot be helped but we had another lovely stay and have already discussed returning! I would say that the property would greatly benefit from a smart tv in the lounge. I know a lot of people don’t watch tv on holiday but we have an older dog who just wanted to sleep after a day out so we did not venture out too much in the evenings. I ended up watching tv on my iPad. We had some very heavy rain and wind during our stay and noticed some damp walls on the kitchen and by the bay window in the lounge. This did not affect our stay just an observation as we saw some work had been done to sort out the flaky paint in both the kitchen and utility room. Overall I would highly recommend The Nook in a heartbeat to anyone considering a stay in Anglesey. The addition of the decking is great and just adds to the amazing views - just a shame the weather did not give us the opportunity to take full advantage of using it!

Only real problem was the washing machine wasn't working.

One of my dogs had vomited on a throw on the way there and I really needed to wash it.Because the washing machine was not working it ultimately meant we had to take it home a week later to clean it, by which time it was growing its own life form. We bought fuses and changed the one in the plug but there was no 'thank you for trying' from the owners. I was disappointed with this, it tainted my whole view of the property and the attitude of the owners. Other than this, everything was good. The garden is very very well enclosed with high fences all around. I always worry one of my dogs will get out (she's a ninja) but it is very secure. I'd have liked it if I could have closed the internal doors properly, to stop dogs going in to rooms we weren't using, but most of them would only push to and there was no catch to close them. I didn't want my dogs to go in and lie on the beds, purely because i didn't want to create more work/laundry for the owners. How fabulous to have a Nespresso machine! In fact the amount of cooking gadgets provided was wonderful.I Overall we really enjoyed our stay we would return, and would recommend to others.

Fabulous property in perfect location for all amenities and the beach.

Deceptively spacious and very well equipped. Garden very secure for our two dogs and although is in the centre of the town it is in a quiet little cul-de-sac of only 4 properties so no vehicle/foot traffic and is not overlooked. Bedrooms are large and with comfortable beds. Apart from cozy lounge there is a large dining room and a second snug, neither of which we used since we ate in the kitchen diner. The beach, is only a seven minute walk down the hill but you need to keep an eye on the tide times to get maximum benefit of the expansive sands. The beach is really sheltered from the wind and is a social dog walkers paradise with numerous other like minded and friendly owners. Although the beach access is slightly restricted for dogs in the busy months, it only applies to a small section of the beach. The Benllech pub is a welcome lunch stop on the way back from the beach offering a good and varied menu. Overall we had a superbly relaxing week and will definitely return to this property again.

We had a fantastic time at Hunters Cottage.

We found the house very clean and had everything you need for a relaxing break. The log fire was perfect for those cold, winter nights and heated the whole house. Plenty of fire wood was provided. The hot tub was huge and the roof kept the rain off. Unlike other reviews, we found it hot and clean. The kitchen had all the amenities. There was a TV in the lounge, kitchen and every bedroom with freeview and netflix. Prime was also accessible if you have an account. We were also able to access a TV port to plug in our PS5. Poppy (our elderly boxer dog) was allowed full roam of the house which was much appreciated and made the break much more relaxing as we didn't have to worry where she was and she could do what she normally does. The games cupboard was very thoughtful and gave us a night of laughter. Benllach was a perfect base to explore Anglesey.

This was a family holiday with our son, teenage grandchildren and the dog.

Accommodation was brilliant, absolutely spotless. There was everything we needed and more. The rooms were far larger than we imagined especially the bedrooms. The garden was enclosed which was excellent for our dog. Five minute walk to a beautiful beach, sea views from the bungalow and generally a great location. We also visited other lovely beaches in Anglesey as well as several castles. Ate out locally once or twice and plenty of good take aways in the local vicinity. There were, though, excellent facilities provided for us to cook ourselves and a beautiful patisserie two minutes walk away. The only thing missing was a BBQ. Slight smell of damp in one lounge and there appeared to be some signs of damp alongside one wall of the property but this was not an issue. We would certainly recommend The Nook and hope to book a return visit.
