We were so very fortunate to have chosen Blackbird Cottage and enjoyed the most incredible 16 night stay.
I rented the cottage for my Mum and I whilst she was visiting from Australia, to provide a comfortable home base from which we could explore all the major parts of Kent and it's Tudor history. Everything about the property was absolutely exceptional. This is not just a standard holiday accommodation, it is a warm, welcoming and cosy cottage, that really feels like home from the moment you walk in the door. The cottage itself is utterly spotless and spacious with 2 bedrooms (super comfortable beds and quality bedding), 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with dining space and a cosy lounge area for relaxing with your favourite TV programmes at the end of the day. Everything had been thoughtfully provided to ensure that your stay was relaxing and fuss free. Paul & Linda were the most delightfully welcoming hosts, who really put a lot of love and care into making their property a beautiful haven in the Kent countryside. (There is some amazing history to the property also). They had kindly supplied a welcome tray of tea, biscuits and cofee upon our arrival, including a pint of fresh milk in the fridge, and had even thoughtfully put up a Christmas Tree in the living room for us to enjoy the festive season. The location itself is fantastic - close to nearby villages either side with equally warm and welcoming pubs (with amazing Sunday roasts!), whilst still being close by to larger towns like Canterbury and Folkestone for shopping and attractions. Everywhere was easily accessible by car, with no major destination in Kent more than a 30 - 45 minute drive coast to coast. Dover & the White Cliffs were only 20 minutes away. Both Mum & I had such a wonderful stay, we have both been saying since our return how we feel homesick for Blackbird Cottage, and we can't wait to come back and stay again as soon as possible. Blackbird Cottage â Ottinge We have had a superb holiday in Blackbird Cottage Ottinge.
The Cottage, a beautifully restored thatched Barn dating back many Centuries was warm spacious and comfortable with all the kit you need for a great holiday. Although the weather was not at its best we were out every day visiting Dover Castle, the RSPB at Dungeness, the Historic Dockyard at Chatham, the Gin Distillery in Maidstone as well as a day trip to France. We took the Bus to Canterbury for its Christmas market and enjoyed a lovely day in this historic city. The Owner Paul was very helpful and gave us a good briefing on places to go and restaurants in the local area. Thanks Paul, we hope we can return. John, Christine and Christopher

Lovely place to stay.
Parking is very good which should suit most people.Nice little welcome pack.The stairs might be a bit of a problem with some people, but if you read the ddescription and look and study the photos, then you can determine your choice.main bedroom is a double bed and 2 single beds in room opposite. Downstairs shower roomand. Open plan downstairs with a lot of space. A very comfortable stay. Roads in the surrounding are narrow so be careful.

This should be a five star accommodation.
The only fault/observation is the shower unit which is small and difficult to get in and out of Paul and Linda are excellent hosts. Always on hand but not obtrusive. The âWelcome Packâ Is over and above what I would expect and very much appreciated. The garden is just the ideal place to unwind and relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea. Thoroughly recommend Blackbird Cottage.

We had such a lovely stay at Blackbird Cottage.
Itâs a beautiful property, well equipped throughout and so much character. The owners are so friendly and close by to help, give advice on places to visit etc and are very friendly and approachable. I had my two children with me who enjoyed the beautiful garden and games provided. Not far from the beaches, Dover, and Folkestone. We will definitely be coming back.
