What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Lesley Richardson - Verified booking

A VERY BAD start! We were given the wrong key code so that on arrival we had to wait 50 minutes before the charming Emma arrived to let us in, cold, damp and in need of the toilet. No explanation of what went wrong as yet! The cleaner, if indeed there was one, had somehow failed to notice that the toilet in the main bathroom did not flush. We didn't discover this until Tuesday when we went in to check it before our guests arrived Once again the efficient Emma moved swiftly to ensure that a plumber repaired this by the end of the day The house linen was very poor: tired, stale bedding in the main bedroom all smelling musty. Difficult to get dry with the small poor quality towels. These also smelling horrible. I rewashed these and the pillow cases on the following day. Suspect the house hadn't been used for some time and it definitely needs an overhaul of drains, overflows etc to make it smell better. Expect some response from you.

We had a fab stay here. Really good location for moors and beach. Lovely part of the world. On an old farm the animals nearby were a real highlight for my children. Lambs, goats and rabbits. Reservoir is a short walk away and suitable for small kids. This is a family friendly house we stayed with our kids aged 2 and 4. Stair gate keeps them out of the upstairs. Not many hazards for them to bump into. Lovely bathroom with great shower and bath that is good for kids. Soft towels. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen. Has cafeteria for coffee. Lovely touch of bread and scones on arrival. Thank you. Feels very secure property. Friendly owners. I would love to stay as an extended family booking both calving and tractor barns. Has a lovely seated area in the summer would be great to sit out in. Throughly recommend and would love to come back. It’s a peaceful retreat in the north Devon countryside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tallet. It is so well equipped and attention to detail is given throughout with even the provision of logs for the wood burner and firepit, firelighters and matches, candles for the table. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will ever need and the hidden drawers are fantastic. The underfloor heating was lovely along with lighting the wood burner and the firepit while we had a BBQ. The views are lovely and the area tranquil - even bird seed is provided so you can watch the birds. We really appreciated the champagne and carrot cake upon our arrival with tea, coffee and sugar. The upstairs balcony lovely to sit and take in the views along with Alexa to stream some music and board games for an evening playing Devon Monopoly. We enjoyed watching Finbar the dog say Hi to all the visitors! Thank you for a lovely break.

This property is really rural and so a lovely quiet getaway. It’s not far from Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands and we were able to visit all easily in October half term. The house is really well stocked with all sorts that you may need during your stay. The only thing we could think of that would have been useful was a clothes horse / airer… I think you’ll manage to find everything else helpfully provided! This is a spacious property and we managed well as a family group of 6 adults and 2 babies. We used the map provided to walk on the farm land around the property which is very hilly and so quite the adventure! One of our family members met one of the owners a few times as he was out and about and he was really friendly. We really enjoyed our break at The Tallet and would recommend it to anyone!
