A cosy and comfortable cottage.
Had four very pleasant nights in Barn2. The property was most welcoming - clean, warm and very peaceful. The beds and the sofas were most comfortable and the shower was such a delight I could have had three or four showers a day ! As a former teacher of history I was fascinated by the Roman remains in the garden and the wealth of industrial heritage in the locality. The village itself was a delight - friendly people, a great village store and excellent bus services. Thanks to Chris and Lynne for making our short stay so memorable - their friendly welcome and the lovely accommodation. Best of luck with the museum venture. Hope to be back again. Lovely cosy property, which was clean and finished to a high specification.
Chris and Lynne were very welcoming and helped make our stay a very enjoyable and relaxing one. We used the barn as a base to visit our daughter at university in Newcastle (20 min drive) and Northumbria. Housesteads, Sycamore Gap and Vindolanda are all worth a visit if you head up to Hadrianâs wall. Very enjoyable day at the seaside (Tynemouth), walking dog on the sandy beach and the castle was fascinating too. Disused railway line less than 500m from the cottage turning left and walking up shaw lane with great views over surrounding countryside. We would definitely consider returning to this lovely property. Ian, Jenny, Luke and Ted the dog

The owners were absolutely fantastic as was their property which was outstanding.
The owners Lynne and Chris welcomed us when we arrived, lent us an umbrella and when my husband was unwell came out to where we were to support us getting back to the barn. They messaged every day to see how he was and offering to support in anyway they could. The barn is situated perfectly for great dog walks along the old railway line. Village shop opposite, pub within walking distance for a meal. The facilities in the barn had everything you needed. We will definitely be returning.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here and am hoping to return next year.
The house was clean, well stocked with facilities and cosy. It felt like our home rather than a holiday let. The owner has put a lot of effort into this property and takes a pride in how she presents it. Highly recommended. The local area is lovely and as we are national trust members there is plenty to do. Durham is beautiful and well worth a visit. We had a meal at the Pub and Kitchen in Cassop and their Sunday roast was fabulous! Many thanks and hope to see you next year.

Recommend Crossed swords pub (walkable ) for food Corbridge , Hexham,Blanchland all pretty towns nearby with walks. Further afield The Sill and walk along Hadrian's wall. Walk along Lower and High Force Waterfall in Teesdale. Fabulous scenery on drive there. All in all a fabulous holiday.
