A wonderful family three days was spent by us at Arlington Mill.
(There were ten of us). It is an amazing building and is just right for a large family group. There is so much space that everyone was satisfied with their own en suite accommodation. We ate in on two nights, preparing huge banquets in the massive and well-equipped kitchen (two freezers and two fridges!). The Catherine Wheel Inn is a stone's throw up the road and did us proud on one evening. This mill is an amazing place and there is so much to see in the village and surrounding area. It is a delightful part of the Cotswolds. Just one or two minor gripes. When using previous rented accommodation we have usually had a TV set in the bedrooms. Arlington Mill does not, though we were probably too tired to bother, anyway! The TV in the lounge appears only to receive programmes via Sky as Freeview failed to pick up any signal. The soundbar failed to switch on and is very precariously attached to the set. I am familiar with the model and it seemed to be inverted? We tried everything to get it into action, but it seemed dead. We brought DVD's with us for the grandchildren but were unable to use them as the player was not connected to the set and the leads appeared to be missing. The heating system is quite complex and not to be messed with! The timer appeared to be incorrectly set though we were frightened to fiddle with it and left it well alone! In leaving it as it was the heating seemed to come on very late in the evening and hardly at all in the morning when we were getting up. The master bedroom, however, was always warm. As a result, we had to purchase heaps of logs and used the very efficient log burner to heat the dinning and associated lounge area where we spent most of our time. These are only minor gripes about a holiday let which is second to none. It certainly has the 'wow factor' and is well worth the money. Congratulations to the owners who have done a great restoration job on what is a wonderful old building of some significance.

Lovely long weekend break at No.
1 Eastington. The cottage was wonderful and in a lovely position as described. There was everything you needed provided for. My bed (the double) felt luxurious with crisp white sheets and bedding. The cottage was very clean. Only a couple of issues; the first one was the Internet, fantastic speeds the Saturday, on Sunday it went down and no amount of rebooting would correct it. This is not a big deal and we did not come away to sit on the Internet all weekend, but just thought you should know. The second issue, there was no welcome pack. In the holiday details it said all the properties had a welcome pack with all the info we needed. So we were not too sure about where to leave the rubbish, where to leave the dirty linen, towels etc, and we struggled to find the Internet code and initially how to use the big oven. We were not sure about the key fob and security system so we just left well alone and hoped it was OK. Also knowing emergency numbers like local doctor etc would have been a useful back up. So we just used our common sense and got on with it. But overall the holiday was fantastic and we loved our stay. The two issues above did not spoil anything. It was so peaceful and the perfect getaway.

This is an extremely lovely apartment with the most amazing fixtures and fittings.
I am usually resigned to not sleeping whenever I go away as I find all beds other than my own extremely hard and uncomfortable. Not here - the beds were so comfortable and the bed linen of such a good quality that I slept well throughout the stay. The apartment is fitted out with an array of high end equipment from Bosch to Miele and has plenty of plates, cutlery etc. The en-suite bathrooms had double headed showers and the towels were plentiful and very soft. Take heed of the owners warning about the parking space, we have a Qashqai and I would say this was even slightly too big for the space which was tricky to access. However that said, the parking space is a definite plus as parking in the village was quite difficult (itâs a very popular spot for visitors). Jane was very welcoming and the food at the Hive restaurant was wonderful especially the scones. The restaurant is very popular and as you access the apartment through the terrace with outside seating for customers you will have to ask people to move so you can access the stairs to the apartments front door.

The Hive is a fantastic property.
Beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable. It is in a brilliant location for exploring the Cotswolds and it's position in Stow is very convenient. We were so lucky with the weather in our week (1st to 8th September) as there was an unexpected heatwave. It is situated above the Hive Cafe. however, we were not disturbed in any way by noise or smells from it. Also there is a pub next door. But again we were not disturbed by this. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They left us lovely cakes and scones in the property for when we arrived. The Hive cafe also serves delicious food. We had one small disappointment in that the washing machine and dryer were out of order. The owner, however, did warn us about this before our arrival. It would have been useful to have a clothes airer provided. We loved our visit and hope to come back..

Having stayed at the Hive before, we've been happy to stay again.
Jayne and Sally (owners) are lovely people who also have the cafe downstairs; very convenient if any problems! All equipment / bedding is good quality. No cleanliness problems. There are a couple of maintenance issues but nothing that will adversely affect your stay. We use both bedrooms and - for the guidance of others doing the same - upstairs is in the eves and tight for headroom in places, especially in the WC, but obviously this hasn't been a deal-breaker for us! The Hive is well-located about 100 yards from the town square; there is a pub next door but we haven't heard anything offensive from there (ie: at chucking-out time), so not a problem. The cafe is always very busy, which says something in a town with quite a few cafes; all staff are great and food likewise. No reason for us not to return!
