    Horncastle Holiday Cottages

At the heart of Lincolnshire sits Horncastle: almost equidistant from the city of Lincoln and the tourist seaside resorts along the coast. Surrounded by countryside, this town is famous for its food, drink and antiques - ideal for holidaymakers. Horncastle holiday cottages are amongst the most popular in the county, as the area offers a quieter alternative to the crowds of nearby beach towns.

Horncastle is home to the world-famous Myers Bakery, renowned for its traditional Lincolnshire plum loaf: a must-try dish for anyone visiting the area. A market runs in the town centre every Thursday and Saturday, full of local businesses and retailers. History fans will be interested to learn more about Horncastle’s heritage through its sections of remaining Roman town walls, the remaining medieval angels at St Mary’s Church and the museum of the Sir Joseph Banks Centre. Hunt for the blue plaques around the town centre, detailing sites of interest.

With thousands of holiday cottages in Horncastle and the rest of the UK, Snaptrip has an unbeatable range of accommodation listed. Our value is unbeatable too: the Snaptrip best price guarantee ensures you won't find the same property cheaper elsewhere.

What our customers say about their holidays

Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet village.

Sharon the owner met us with a very welcoming greeting. The cottage was immaculate and Sharon had lit the woodburner as it was a bit chilly being April. Everything was provided. It was homely and cosy and a perfect size. We visited many places that Sharon had recommended and also there was so much information left in the cottage about local attractions. It was nice to come back to the cottage after a day touring the Lincolnshire Wolds and it really felt like home. In short it is the best equipped holiday cottage we have stayed in. The garden is perfect and features flowerbeds and a large lawned area with seating and a bistro set to dine outside. The utility room was well equipped with washing facilities. Each room in the cottage was warm with underfloor heating. The photo restoration book was fascinating. The church in the village was opposite the cottage and open too A short walk away offers fantastic walks and views across the Wolds for miles. We will return to Lizzies Cottage, We would like to thank Sharon for a perfect break in a beautifly presented cottage, in fact we were sad to leave it and we could easily live there given the opportunity!!! . Cannot be faulted and highly recommended.

It's not how you described, it's what you did not !

On the pictures it was so decieving,as it showed a shingle driveway, which we thought was somewhere to walk our little dog ,also having to park opposite the house, in a dirt layby on a main road 60 miles an hour, was not practical as I and my partner have mobility issues!very dangerous ,we assumed when you said it had a gas hob it would have an oven ! Never have booked if it was mentioned, also microwave was not the same as pictures, so tiny! You also said road noise but did not mention the fast road right outside, also it is not dog friendly, unless you had a enclosed garden, or patio, we have not been out for 3 years,I have only been out of hospital for 3 weeks due to pneumonia! and it was going to be a quiet time away, but this cottage broke my heart on my birthday!!! We only stayed for less than 30 minutes, and spent all of our money, very much upset and disappointed, in the future describe as it is and do not deceive anyone else, would now call on you to do the right thing and refund us at least some of the cost, will never go with Sykes again ,worst experience ever,it's not what you said it is about what you did not say! about the place! Very upset, jayne

We chose this because of the name (same as my wife's’), but little did we know that we would find such a perfect hideaway.

The fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard and everything has been thought of. Inside, the cottage feels much bigger than its outside dimensions would lead you to expect. Additionally there is an outside wash house (where we kept our bikes) and a lovely private garden. The owners are very helpful and anxious to ensure that any problems that might be encountered are put right immediately. They are just a phone call away. There is lots to do in the area and a number of excellent local pubs for evening meals if you tire of self-catering. Lizzie’s Cottage is situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds, rolling hills cut from the underlying limestone, chalk and sandstone. It is agriculturally rich. The coastline provides miles of beach with good swimming, highly suited to families, as well as some of the finest wetlands in Britain which attract migrant birds which can be observed in places such as Gibralter Point. The only problem will be finding a space in the calendar because once the word gets out guests will flock to this great cottage. One word sums up Lizzie’s Cottage - Excellent.

A truly delightful and cosy cottage opposite the church in the peaceful village of Fulletby.

I arrived to find fresh flowers, a Lincolnshire Plum Loaf, the heating on and log fire ready to light. The kitchen could not have been better equipped - there was even a slow cooker. Fulletby is within easy striking distance of Gunby Hall with its walled gardens and orchards (National Trust), old market towns such as Louth and Alford, coastal nature reserves such as Gibraltar Point and Donna Nook, and oodles of walks in The Wolds where every hamlet/village has a little church and often a pub. The Viking Way runs past the cottage so you can forget the car for a day and explore some neighbouring villages on foot.
