What our customers say about their holidays

    • Velesha - Verified booking

Stunning cottage perfectly positioned in a beautiful fishing village.

Absolutely loved this little cottage, 2 mins from Aberdovey seafront, harbour and beach. Very cosy with both central heating and a wood burner, has a good size fridge/freezer, full size oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Iron and hairdryer provided. Although compact it is more than adequate as a holiday cottage, the bathroom is very small but has a good hot shower, the only thing my husband struggled with was no mirror in front of the sink to shave (there is a mirror but on a different wall.) The rear yard is small and only got the sun in the morning when we were there, it did have a washing line which was great for drying bits whilst you were out for the day. No parking at the cottage but a permit is provided for the main car park and you can stop outside to unload. We had great weather when we were there, we walked the Roman Road, had fish and chips, sat on the beach and watched the sunset, walked up to the bandstand, got the train to Tywyn (not much there), walked the Panorama Walk on the ridge of the Happy Valley to the Bearded Lake, drove to the Dolgoch Falls, Dolgellau and Barmouth. Did the Wednesday market at Machynlleth then drove to Aberystwyth walked from the harbour round to the Cliff Railway and took a train up the mountain (amazing views) Also did a day to Aberaeron which is lovely. So many places to visit in a stunning part of Wales. We highly recommend this cottage and you certainly won’t be disappointed if you book a stay.

We've just returned from a fabulous weeks stay at the wonderful Moelfre Cottage.

What a wonderfully, cosy cottage and the decor is of a very high standard. Location is exactly what we were looking for, quite remote with stunning views of the mountains but also close enough to the lovely village of Llanbedr which has some lovely pubs to eat in, a convenience store and a cafe that serves lovely take away sandwiches for your travels. The owners of the cottage were very welcoming and friendly and we arrived to find some gorgeous looking cupcakes and they tasted delicious too, a lovely surprise. The owners also have a fabulous campsite just down the road from the cottage with a wonderful waterfall walk and a few other very scenic walks too. We walked there from the cottage, did the waterfalls walk and back again quite easily as a family but you can drive there. We spent a few days local as it is so beautiful there and walking/cycling in either direction from the cottage is a must to take in the scenic views. Harlech is 3 miles away and has a fantastic beach for the whole family, castle (well worth a visit) and some quaint shops. The ice cream parlour sells the best tasting ice cream that I have ever tasted tbh. We spent a couple of days at the beach too, stunning. Other pretty villages that are well worth a visit is Beddlegert and Bettws-y-Coed. We'll definitely return again.

It would really help to have a plan of each holiday accommodation offered on your website.

For disabled or less mobile tourists it can be crucial as to whether the bathroom is on the same floor as the bedroom, and whether there is a toilet on the ground floor. We had to take a gamble and luckily it worked out OK. Ty Gwyn is very well refurbished with really careful attention to detail retaining much of the original character and atmosphere of the cottage - both stylish and relaxed. It is much bigger inside than it appears outside. It is well equipped and comfortable and the owners provided some essential supplies (milk, butter and bread) on our arrival which was very welcome. There is also a parking permit for use at various carparks in the region, which was very useful. The wi-fi has a strong signal. The owners provide a very practical guide to the cottage with clear instructions on every aspect of the stay, as well as useful information about local services and amenities. Copperhill Street itself is rather noisy, but also within easy walking distance to the whole town, harbour and beach.

Our holiday at Ty Gwyn was very pleasurable, the cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

The only negative comment to make is that the courtyard is not available to your dog to relieve itself. I had rang Sykes before the balance of the holiday was taken from the bank account to question this after reading a review which said the same. After Sykes had communicated with the owner we were told that there was not a problem, however, within the information pack it stated that the courtyard was not to be used by your dog as a toilet. There was also a notice on the back door leading to the courtyard stating the same. Our dog will not "go" on the lead so, therefore, it meant we were up and out, on the beach around 6 am every morning and also last thing at night. As it was our holiday it would have been nice to have later morning starts. It might be helpful if this information was given within the description of facilities as I don't think we would have booked this cottage had we known about this restriction.

We have just returned from the most fabulous stay at Moelfre Cottage.

I cannot fault the stay. From the minute we pulled up to the cottage it felt like home. The location of the cottage is breathtaking. Fabulous, unspoilt views and amazingly peaceful. Set amongst hills and near the farm, the cottage was a little piece of heaven. The little stream running through the back garden was beautiful and the children loved playing in it. Absolutely spotless cottage. The cottage was very well equipped. Bathrooms modern and clean. Bedrooms stunning. The views from every window in the house perfect. Owners were so friendly. Fresh baking on arrival a very thoughtful touch. Fabulous location for visiting Portmerion, Harlech castle and the local beaches. A must was going to Nancol Waterfalls and swimming in the stream. I would 100 percent recommend this cottage and location.
