What our customers say about their holidays

The listing of the property was not accurate to the room configuration.

I asked for a floor plan on a number of occasions and was told one was not available, I now think this was because had we seen a floor plan we would have cancelled the booking. The master in the main house is listed as having a ensuite with a water fall shower, the bathroom with a waterfall shower is accessed from the main kitchen and is also the only toilet on the ground floor so with multiple occupants is in constant use. So to access the bathroom the downstairs bedroom and the unexpected mezzanine bedroom have to walk through main rooms and past the front door, not at all the level of comfort you would expect for a luxury cottage. Their are two mezzanine bedrooms, one in the cottage and one in the main house so these rooms offer no privacy. We travelled to celebrate a big birthday and paid what we thought would get us a level of luxury, instead the bathrooms and mezzanines left us feeling like we were back in university halls, waiting with your wash bag in a kitchen for a bathroom to become free and unable to have a private time with your partner. I was sadden by this as we had previously been pleased with cottages we have booked through Sykes

Everything about Lee House was perfect!

It was spotlessly clean & all the bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, crockery & cutlery were as new. The view from the lovely garden was absolutely stunning. We spent a lot of time sitting & eating in the garden, the outdoor furniture was very comfortable. The house is very child friendly & our 6 grandchildren spent a lot of time in the hot tub, running around on the lawn & playing outdoor games such as table tennis & croquet that were provided. All the 10 adults joined in as well!! The owners were really friendly & welcoming. One of the many highlights for the children was watching the 3 'on site' donkeys being fed & being able to stroke them! We used a caterer, recommended by the owners, on Saturday night to celebrate one of our daughter's 40th birthday, ksimcockcatering.co.uk, she was excellent & the food she produced was delicious. I initially chose Lee House because of the location, lovely photos on the website & the spacious nature of the property. However, seeing & 'experiencing' the house in person was even better! We all had a wonderful & very relaxing weekend. Would recommend Lee House without reservation to anyone.

We really had a great time all family members from 9 month to 70 +.

Had the best time. The cottage was great , Clean and very well kept also well equipped for 19 people. The rooms were comfortable and had lots off space to sleep all my family including a baby. We found the hot tube in the garden great as sat in it watching over the hills watching the sunset was a nice feeling. We found the location ok as all my family came from all parts off Britain i.e. West Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Hertfordshire, Surry, Colchester so Lee House Cottage was in the middle. The owners Rosie and John were so helpful kind and would help with anything that wasn't right or needed fixing. Even John thought my 6 year old about how to look after the hot tube which he found fascinating. I would like to thanks Rosie and John and yourselves at Skyes cottages for making our week away so enjoyable and memorable. Thanks so much Kelly and family

Our family spent a week at Lee House Cottage and what a great time we had there.

We spent most of the week out of doors with amazing views and great out doors facilities ie table tennis hot tub and a plenty supply of games. The owners Jon and Rosie couldn't do enough for us and we all fell in love with their little dog Sunny who came to visit us every day and was in a great risk of being abducted as we all thought he was amazing and very friendly. The cottage itself was beautiful, spotless and very tastefully set out with every possible thing you could need. Our eldest family member was 95 and the ground floor bedrooms and wet room was a bonus. We would recomend Lee House Cottage 100% with only one tiny recomendation that the sign giving directions to the cottage was a little bit bigger as it was a little bit of a challenge to find . Regards The Southport Crew

      Absolutely loved this cottage.

We went as party of 19 (10 adults and 9 children between 2-8yrs). The house is stunning and is so well equipped and homely. The secret mini door was a fantastic addition for the children who used it to play hide and seek. The cottage has everything anyone would need and was so relaxing. The surrounding area was beautiful and we enjoyed visiting the on-site donkeys. The chickens also came to visit us at one point which was lovely. The hot tub was a welcomed treat for the adults when the children went to bed. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and the beds were so comfy. Rosie and Jon were lovely and on hand to answer any queries we had. We will definitely be back and have already recommended the cottage to others. Fantastic memories made. Thank you so much.
