Many, many negative issues with this property: 1.

Dirty, mouldy shower. 2. Stains on bedding. 3. Spiders in bed, total of 27 spiders in property over a week, some very large indeed. 4. Previous occupants smelling, rotting, mouldy food waste left in the kitchen. 5. Tepid shower. 6. Faecal matter caked and left in rim of toilet, very unhygienic and a health hazard. 7. Dirty skylights with no blinds. 8. Holes in curtains. 9. No toilet roll holder. 10. No wardrobe in room with two beds. 11. Exposed wiring in back of wardrobe in double room. 12. Multitude of cobwebs in every room corner. 13. Squashed bugs left to dry on walls and door frames. 14. Questionable stains like dried snot on wall next to bed. 15. Dog urine in door runner. 16. Leaking drainpipe right in front of main entrance which kept you awake when it was raining and causing cracked flooring which was hidden under doormat. 17. Smelly, dirty kitchen floor, had not been mopped or bleached. 18. Microwave in cupboard so you had to physically lift it out and place it somewhere to use it. 19. Dead flies and cobwebs over cookbooks next to cooker. 20. No terrestrial TV, just a box ominously balancing on top of TV. 21. Washing drawer full of mouldy washing remnants. 22. You have to pay £20 on top of your booking price to use the hot tub more than once. 23. Iron plate caked with dirt so unable to use. 24. Owners dog urinated on recycling and my vehicle every morning which was very unpleasant smelling. 25. Stains on cushions and settee. 26. Seals on bi-fold doors hanging off and crevices very dirty indeed, full of cobwebs, dirt & dead spiders. 27. Numerous beetles all over property floor. 28. Broken mirrored bin in bathroom, daughter nearly cut toe on it which could've caused a nasty injury. 29. Burn marks on dressing table (may be from hot iron which may the reason for issue number 23.). 30. No small bin liners in bins in bedroom and bathroom, very unhygienic, but I did bring my own black bags. This property certainly wasn't worth £2000 for a week. Complained to Sykes with supporting photos and videos which I shall publish online on every platform if no partial refund is given as requested, as property owner said his wife checked the property before we arrived and we couldn't check in earlier as the cleaner wouldn't be finished. One wonders exactly what the cleaner did do?? I didn't report the issues to the owner as it would've tainted my stay as I had booked the stay through Sykes and I believe they have a duty of care to the client to who books such expensive properties only to be harshly disappointed when they get there. I spent most of my holiday cleaning the property myself having bought numerous cleaning products in which to do so. Even my dog was immaculate and didn't leave a mess anywhere. We even cordoned off the verdant grass ourselves in order to keep it in a lovely condition. The property was left in a cleaner state than when we arrived. The owner even stated we were very clean and quiet and could stay again which makes this situation quite bittersweet. So very disappointed. This was the first holiday after losing my whole family in a short space of time. I was hoping for a clean, peaceful and relaxing stay but left very upset indeed which in turn exacerbated my depression instead of alleviating it.

We arrived at Love Cottage finding beautiful welcome gifts including flowers, cakes, milk, orange juice and a very sweet card.

We immediately felt very welcome and at home. The cottage was as the pictures... pretty, well equipped, very clean and super cosy. The cottage was also well stocked with basic essentials also... tea towels, cooking utensils, cleaning products and so on. It is compact with everything you need. (No washing machine, however, with many local launderettes, this was not a problem. I chose to worry about it when I arrived home) The modern shower was lovely, all feeling pretty new. The sofas were also comfy... and the cottage was a joy to return to after long days out and especially on the evening when it rained. My husband, my son and myself felt the size was perfect. We used the sofa bed for our son, which I was not looking forward too however with it being of good quality, it was a breeze to pull out at night and put away the next morning, using the double bed room for the additional bedding. We all felt we slept later than usual due to being so relaxed and comfortable. Our dog enjoyed the small front and back enclosed area as well as the local walk through the country lane. ( right of the entrance) The location could not be better if you prefer, like us, to be out of the way of crowded holiday type places... however being amazingly close to everywhere this area has to offer. My son especially loved having Carew Karting literally 5 minutes away, as well as Heatherton activities. We especially loved being close to Saundersfoot and Wisemans Bridge. Having spent six nights at Love Cottage we were very sad to leave. We have very much enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. A pretty, cosy, clean cabin type interior which is perfect for couples or small families such as ours. Thank you Sian for making us feel so welcome and your kind gifts. Thank you also to Sykes Cottages who made our booking experience straightforward as well as keeping us well informed.. A wonderful week away at Love Cottage. We do hope to return soon. Love from the Norris family (Newport, South Wales. Date of stay: 24th - 30th July 2021)

WOW, where do I start, we have stayed at many cottages and hotels and Summer House exceeded our expectations.

Firstly all the communication before we arrived was perfect, not to much ( some can over load you) all the directions were very clear for this hidden gem. On arrival we were welcomed by the most warm hearted hosts who greeted us with more luxuries that we could of asked for. Knowing that we had just got married the day before and should of been jetting to the Maldives they made our stay extra special. We entered the accommodation through a beautiful gate decorated with fresh flowers to start the experience, followed by the welcome of a stunning enclosed garden, to have our breaths taken away when the bifold doors opened to the most stunning lounge. We were then treated to flowers as a wedding gift along with champagne and chocolates ( we couldn’t of been more thought of) the rest of the accommodation was as expected stunning, all the little details as a woman you would dream of were in front of me, fresh flowers in the bedroom, beautiful candles to burn and little local treats scattered in the fridge and cupboards, not forgetting the freshly baked cakes! Our week was perfect, the bed was as comfortable as ours at home and the bedding was of the highest quality as were the towels. The outside area was comfortable to sit in the morning for breakfast as much as it was in the evening, the added bonus of an amazing hot tub perfected our stay. I couldn’t fault any part of our stay other than it was over way to quickly for us. The location was ideal to get to the beach, restaurants and a fun adventure area for all ages ( crazy golf, archery, shooting etc) we have already talked about this accommodation way to much to our friends and are worried that we won’t get booked in again due to it being so amazing, one friend said it looked like a Big Brother house and yes she was right. So thank you to the amazing hosts Vernon and Linda for an amazing start to our married life, one we will remember and it was so special to be your first guests especially on our honeymoon.

On arrival we were surprised that there wasn’t much privacy.

Not only were there neighbours at the front of the property but in the picture the back looked private but it didn’t show that there was a path to Poppy Cottage running down the side, so when having a drink or food people staying in Poppy cottage would be walking passed, also Poppy cottage had an outdoor cinema, hot tub and bbq in their outside space so when they were outside their noise carried into Love cottage’s outdoor space and into the property too, so no matter where you sat for a quiet drink or food you had neighbours at the front and heard/saw neighbours at the back too. The pictures showed Love cottage as adjoined to the Farmhouse and a lawn surrounding them but in fact outside Love cottage’s bedroom window were the car parking for the Farmhouse,Love cottage and Poppy cottage so when in bed on a morning if any of the neighbours went out you heard them walking past and getting in their cars, not ideal for a lie in. The fridge inside at the back was all frozen up so wasn’t working properly and the extraction fan also didn’t work, there was a big ball of fluff/dust on some coasters by the tv and quite a lot of spiders and spiderwebs to many to say it’s because it close to trees. While the cottage was a nice little place it was the surroundings that let it down. We booked it from looking at the pictures of how tranquil it looked but the photos were obviously photoshopped. They don’t show the other 4 dwellings attached to the Farmhouse or the said pathway to Poppy Cottage and parking bays. Wouldn’t have booked it if the pictures and descriptions were correct. Shame cause the cottage was nice. Oh and a curtain or blinds up the front door would be good because at night when the lights are on the neighbours can see right in and watch you going to the loo and bedroom, not good when coming out of the bathroom after a shower to go the bedroom draped in just a towel.

Love Cottage is small, modern, cute and so cosy .

It was perfect for the 2 of us and a nice place to come back to, it has 2 small outside spaces which would be ideal for dogs. The owners have put some lovely plants and baskets there. We were able to sit out a few times when the weather allowed and even though the road runs in front of the site you cant see it and it didn't bother us at all, it feels like you're deep in the countryside as there's trees everywhere and a big green grass area in front of the row of properties. we were left some wine and chocolates which were most appreciated. lovely and clean with bath sheets {a big plus for me} and nice bed linen. The bed is a standard double even though we prefer a King but it was very comfortable. We visited Barafundle Bay, Carew Castle, Tenby, Saundersfoot and Freshwater East, all stunning. We ate out a few times and also used the Severn Spice Indian for a delivery which was delicious. The cottage was very well equipped, and some extra luxuries like a Nespresso coffee machine with pods, a Smart TV, a large double shower and also plenty of tea, coffee and Hot Coffee and you don't need to take or buy tea cloths, fairy liquid etc etc as its all there. We used the Aldi and Tesco in Pembroke Dock for our supplies, an easy ten minute drive away. A great base for exploring Pembrokeshire, We will definately come back.
