We enjoyed our stay at Heatherdale, Treknow.
The Victorian house and it's location exceeded our expectations. We know the area and particularly liked the walk up to the coastal path overlooking Trebarwith Bay, then round robin back to the cottage via Gull Rock House. There are good views from the front windows over pasture fields towards The Strand and The Rumps in the distance. The Rear Garden was secure for our hound dog Bertie but the front garden was for the most part unusable due to the road and no front gate. Within, the house was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and we can see the owners investment and care in creating a holiday feel. Through a big storm we felt protected and when the sun shone we were booting up for another walk or a trip to the tidal beach, setting up our days according to the low tides. There are some maintenance issues. The bathroom sink and hob are cracked, the shower head bracket would not hold it's angle in place so showering is easier hand-held within the bath. The rear patio furniture could do with an update and the middle gate latch needs attention as it blew open a few times. Minor points though not detracting from our enyoyable break... we were sad to leave and would book again.

The cottage was clean and comfortable.
Very convenient for the coastal path, visiting Tintagel and Boscastle all very beautiful. We had some issues with the allocated parking space as it was very tight against a stone wall, where the passenger had to get out before the vehicle could get close enough in for the traffic to get past on the dusty farm track! We also had an issue with a neighbour who covered our car in hedge trimmings and small stones as he believed we shouldnât be parking there and didnât bother to ask us to move it before he strimmed the hedge! This was discussed with the owner at the time as it was upsetting and disrupted our holiday. The owner said she would contact the neighbour to resolve the issues. The bed was comfortable however too low for us and the frame was a hazard especially at night. We like a window open at night this was difficult having balcony doors, however we left the bathroom window open for some air. The clothes aider was broken, owner is aware and was going to replace.

A lovely cottage in an absolutely beautiful and tranquil setting.
The facilities in Millers House are in keeping with the character of the building, not pristine but that makes the cottage very homely and welcoming, both myself and my daughter felt settled immediately and had a wonderful stay. Mr Evans, the owner is most friendly and helpful and a very nice host. Finding a criticism is really difficult. The only thing is, and this is such a small thing, the cooking facilities were all there and in great order but I was a little surprised there were no condiments like salt, pepper, cooking oil etc (you wouldnt think to bring it with you). It wasn't an issue as we had to go shopping for the fresh food we couldn't bring, so we simply bought that too. We left it at the property as a gift to the next occupants. As I say, it's such a small thing so it doesn't detract from our experience at all, it's such a lovely place I'm almost embarrassed to mention it. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay, I should have booked 2 weeks at least.

We had a great stay at Millerâs House.
This was our second time staying at this location and both times have been superb. The house was lovely and warm (in February), was immaculately clean, had everything we needed, comfy beds, great shower, decent WiFi, parking just outside, plenty of utensils in the kitchen, lots of sitting space. Itâs worth asking or learning about the history of this place that is believed to date from the 18th century. The place still has character that fits that. I really encourage anyone staying to also explore the grounds as it is really set in a stunning valley with a river running through. The place is gated so you have your own private part of this valley and can leave to walk further up it through the stunning back garden. This place isnât just about the house. Mr Evans is very hospitable and will help you with request or queries. Will definitely be back again.

We come down three times a year now because we love it so much, the weather is always kind to us, the local people are just so welcoming, the scenery is fantastic and everything you need is within spitting distance.
It caters for all as if you like interesting shops there is Tintagel and Boscastle, if you prefer nature's wonders there is St Nectans Glen, if you want beaches and the more commercial there's Bude and plenty of other beaches not too far away, there's plenty of local cafes, pubs and restaurant's to choose from and cover all of your dietary needs. Millers House is like a second home to us now and Robin the owner is a lovely man who will always great you with a welcoming smile and make sure you have everything you need. The world and atmosphere changes as soon as you come through the gate, the busy outside world fades into the trees, the marvellous bird song and sounds of babbling streams. You breath the fresh air in and instantly relax. We wish we could stay forever as we have made some good friends down here but as the Terminator said "we'll be back"
