A beautiful property, so cosy and decorated to a high standard.
There are plenty of practical items and a selection of books, DVDs and even some binoculars for watching the local wildlife. The grounds are wonderful, perfect for an evening stroll. Unfortunately we werenât blessed with good weather so we didnât have much chance to enjoy, however we did get to meet the two adorable Highland cows. The Loft is situated between Scarborough and Whitby, but not too far from Staithes, Robin Hoodâs Bay and the picturesque Sandsend (I would definitely recommend a visit!). The Clevelend Way walk from Ravenscar to Robin Hoodâs Bay is lovely too - very hilly, but the views are wonderful. Also not far away is the pretty Falling Foss waterfall and tea gardens. A perfect place to just sit, observe and listen to nature. The owners, Pippa and Graham, are very friendly and helpful and they are available if you need anything. They they have a very friendly dog too, who greeted us like old friends! We had a lovely time whilst we were there (we had to leave early due to a family emergency) but the few days we had there were appreciated and allowed us to recharge our batteries in a relaxing, pretty and comfortable environment. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Loft. Thank you.

On arrival we were disappointed to find that the cottage is on a busy A road into Scarborough.
The noise of traffic, which included large lorries and cars whizzing past at speed (supposedly on a 30mph road) was relentless, even in the early hours. I really struggled to sleep. Because the weather was hot we needed the windows open slightly, but even with them closed it w2as noisy. Unfortunately, it did not lend to a relaxing peaceful stay. If I had known about this I would not have booked this particular cottage! There is also no parking, and had to park at the local village hall down the road. The property is quite overlooked by the next door neighbour (who luckily seemed to be away while we were there), so the hot tub is not very private. The only view is a stone wall and neighbours gardens. It was also a little inconvenient having to walk wet through the house to go to toilet upstairs. The bathroom looked lovely, but was not really user friendly, especially if youre not very tall or have mobility problems, as it was very high to climb into the shower. Sorry to be so negative, but we were quite disappointed with the noisy location. TBH we were glad to get back home to our peaceful home, and am looking forward to a good night's sleep and to hear the birds singing in the morning!

The cottage is really lovely and cosy, and hot tub/garden is great!
We had issues with plumbing in the bathroom (sink taps - hot tap very noisy and cold tap sometimes didn't work). There was also a leak on the radiator in the back bedroom which resulted in a wet carpet but this was sorted out by the owner the same day. The only feedback I would have is that there were only three wine glasses and three prosecco glasses (not matching) which was slightly problematic when there were four adults staying there!! There were also only two glass tumblers which was disappointing. I found it slightly odd that bath/hand towels were supplied but no tea towel in the kitchen - I did see the note saying to bring a tea towel at the bottom of the email, but I just don't see why it could be provided when everything else is?! Overall it was a great cottage in a great location and would stay again if I wanted to visit the area - would make sure I brought some glasses with me though! Thanks for a lovely stay

We had a 2 night stay in this gorgeous property and it definitely lived up to expectations.
There was four of us and there was plenty of room without feeling cramped. The kitchen/dining area is perfect size to chill out and all relax together so much so we barely used the living room. Everything that would we need was provided and the property was clean. The host had included small details including games and a lot of information of attractions in the local area. Although it is on a main road, we barely noticed passing cars. The only downfall is the lack of amenities in the area due to it being a small village and having specific opening times but we were aware of this at the time of the booking. Scarborough isn't too far a drive and there's plenty of lovely places to eat out and things to do. We didn't have any issues during our stay and was just what we needed for a relaxing break away. Just disappointed we didn't book for longer! Definitely recommend and hope to book again in the future Thank you very much!xx

A lovely cottage with all amenities thought of by the hosts.
There were fresh baked goods on arrival and even a bottle of milk! With gorgeous scenery all around, The Loft was a wonderfully cosy place to snuggle up after a day of exploring the local coastline, and listen to the wind howling outside... Graham was kind enough to show me his extensive fossil collection when I told him that the natural history of the area was a huge draw for me. He told us good walks to take, places to eat, places to hunt for fossils and he even gave me a couple that he found on the beach! The only thing that I would change; and it really is a minor detail!- a small sofa or cuddle chair to replace the tub chairs, as we didn't find them particularly comfortable. We'd love to return in the high season!
