Truly amazing stay.
Gorgeous peaceful surroundings, obviously everyone goes for the hot tub which is fed from an underground spring and heated 24 hours a day everything is perfect. You have a complimentary fire pit kit with logs for your first one, I guarantee that once you get into the hot tub with the flames dancing one fire will not be enough. I forgot about work and was so chilled after this break I was horizontal for days. The host is a lovely lady, so hard working and nothing is to much trouble. Highly recommend. The shops are a little bit of a distance as you are secluded but it's well worth it no stress. I recommend going to Glasson Dock approx 6 miles away the Dalton Arms does an amazing breakfast and pint of Guinness (we were on holiday) then if your into posh nosh from lobster to wild boar pate pop next door to the port of Lancaster Smokehouse for things to take back to the pod. We will be returning unfortunately my wife won't let me go back next week. This isn't a downside, housemartins like to nest around the outside light above the door, the owner keeps it under control but if you hang a plastic bag around the light in the day it keeps them away and saves your lovely host from scarecrow duty. I stayed at Heron in Yorkshire Dale's in August 2024. This place was amazing the views from my pod are stunning if I could I would have spent all three days of my stay at the pod just watching the view, but I was with the kids so made them do activities and enjoy the nature. The Pod is a 10/10 for cleanliness and it has all the right things to keep you going for about 7 days. My over all experience was a 9 /10 this was because I would change two things, 1 I would have the hot tub abit more private as people driving on to the site and past the site could see me in the hot tub. 2 the water was abit yellow, this will pit some people off so I would advise for the owner to get this issues resolved, the water tasted fresh but the colour put my partner off. Diane was a great help she answered all our queries before we got to the site and also when we where on the site. I will definitely be using these Pods next time. Regards Shezad Mansoor

We have just got back from an absolutely wonderful 5 days at the oyster catcher!
The pod was perfectly equipped for myself and my husband, 3 kids (including a baby) and dog. The weather was pretty wild and wet for the duration of our stay but it honestly felt like there was no where I'd rather be in the world than in that cosy pod, with everything we needed surrounded by the most absolutely stunning countryside and views, with a hot tub to venture out into! When we did go for the odd wet walk it was the most perfect warm comforting place to return to! The beds were also so comfy. I've stayed in a lot of holiday rentals places and this is my favourite, none of us wanted to leave and I just can't wait to go back!

Just got back from an amazing stay over the New Year at Heron .
.what a lovely cosy comfortable pod it is with stunning views and lovely walks nearby. The weather was a bit wild so we didnât leave the pod much in the first part of our stay but this was fine as we had everything we needed there for a comfortable stay and were very happy, everything seemed brand new in there too, comfy beds and very clean..kids loved it too we played lots of family games and to top it off we saw the Northern Lights from our hot tub on New Years Day night! Fabulous it was! Thanks again for a wonderful stay ..would highly recommend to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay.
Everything was spotless really beautiful and brilliant power shower . Loved the hot tub with a cheeky glass of bubbly ( plastic glass obvs ) Fiancé lit the fire pit on last night with the free wood and matches provided and enjoyed a lovely BBQ. Pub/Brewery just down the road just remember to bring a torch x Diane was amazing very very nice lady very kind and knowledgeable. All in all we enjoyed every minute and will definitely stay again x you wonât be disappointed x thank you Diane and family youâve done an amazing job and your cleaner is brilliant x
