What our customers say about their holidays

    • Rev Bedford - Verified booking

This location was ideal for the four of us to explore Pembrokeshire and we have had a super week. However Sycamores is in need of some attention to details CURB APPEAL The main refuse bin was overflowing all week despite this being pointed out to the emergency help line on Friday 28th. Whether someone came to try and tidy we doubt. The driveway is very weedy! WELCOME PACK would be helpful with some basic instructions. Keys: the lock to the front door and balcony are very difficult to operate and need some attention. The Cabin is generally well equipped, clean, and has comfy beds and good bathroom facilities. Helpful additions would be: a bread knife, bin liner bags. Faults: large clock is not working, knob to light be dining table come off when trying to use. FRUSTRATION: trying to find any basic stations on the TV was impossible. We did report this 28/6 only for response the next day to be that there was no aerial connection. Clearly the details about the cottage heralded a wall mounted smart TV: it is surely not too much to expect said TV to work. Because we had Netflix and Prime log-ins we could access them but we tried in vane to get onto BBC Iplayer, ITVX, More 4 & 5 Live. From a note found in the visitors book dated 21/6 we are not the first to encounter this!! David and Lorna Bedford 4th July 2024

      The location is perfect.

It’s very peaceful and we especially liked the shared area outside which appeared well maintained. The lodge itself is quite cosy there is plenty of natural light throughout the day from the many windows. Our main issues with the property are to do with the general cleanliness of the property. There were cobwebs EVERYWHERE. The bed was also quite small although that is probably the biggest size that would fit in that area in the current configuration. The mattress, pillows and quilt all need to be changed, they are old and very well past their use by date. The shower was great but the shower head also needs a good clean/ replacing. The way the toilet is placed, there is no way to sit comfortably. The directions to the property also need to be looked at as it was very difficult to find with the map pin and after following the written directions, we ended up asking for directions from the pub that was literally next door. Overall we did in fact have a great time at the property, some of our gripes are very nitpicky. An extended stay at this property is probably the best thing to do as there are so many things to do nearby.

      A lovely lodge.

Well equipped with all that you need on a very quiet site. The power shower is incredible and the bed so comfy you dont want to get out of it!!! The owners left an emergency pack for the dog and cake to welcome us which were both a really nice touch. You can walk to the nearest beach which is about 0.8mile away. The beach is dog friendly and there is a good pub down there too (also dog friendly) a little bit further down the road is Amroth where the New Inn does amazing food and is again dog friendly. The lodge was in an ideal situation to explore Pembrokeshire. Whether you want castles or beaches or adventure parks, all are within at most an hour away. We were really amazed at how dog friendly Pembrokeshire is with the majority of beaches being dog friendly all year round. Also worth a visit are The National Botanic Gardens and the Blue Lagoon. The best beach we found for excellent facilities was Coppet Hall Beach, very small but the cafe and toilets there were brilliant. If you want shops, a short walk away is Saundersfoot . All in all a lovely place to stay and the lodge as a base was superb.

Woodland view is a modern, spacious & very well equipped lodge in a peaceful elevated position adjacent to a lovely hotel and golf club. There are 3 good size double/ twin bedrooms, 2 on the ground floor share a bathroom and 1 on the first floor which has an en-suite shower room. Beds are comfortable & the rooms have good storage. The ground floor kitchen & dining area is spacious with everything you need if self catering. There is a separate utility room. There is a fabulous lounge on the first floor with 3 comfy sofas, a couple of easy chairs & a large TV. There is a 1st floor balcony & ground floor verandah with furniture. There are lovely views of the woodland & golf course beyond. The location is very convenient for the areas various tourist attractions and there is a lovely restaurant & bar at the Trefloyne Manor hotel. There is enough parking at the lodge for 2 or 3 cars. Access to the lodge is via a steep, windy gravel driveway. It’s probably not a problem in a 4WD vehicle but we found it very difficult in a powerful saloon car.

      Inside, the chalet was fantastic.

Super comfy beds, top quality appliances and utensils with everything that one could need for a comfortable stay. However, access was difficult, steps with no handrail whatsoever proved impossible for my 81 year old husband. We managed by going over the grass and down a slopes the rear of the chalet. We were glad that we read previous comments about lack of non slip shower mat and we took our own. The shower was great but there is a problem with the waste outlet, despite taking out and cleaning the waste trap it still didn't drain away quickly enough to stop the shower tray from filling with water. This meant turning off the shower after a couple of minutes and waiting for it to drain then resuming ones shower. The village shop mentioned in the booklet seems to have closed down. We did enjoy our stay very much despite the problems that I mentioned. Access would be perfectly fine for younger and more agile people. The setting is quiet and peaceful and great for visiting the many beautiful beaches, harbours and villages and of course St David's.
