What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lorraine - Verified booking

Cannot fault the owner for providing so much when we arrived.

Very surprised to find many things we had carried with us were already provided. Including things such as cheese grater, can opener, pegs, toilet roll, liquid soap and condiments. Plenty of crockery and ample storage space. Instructions for use of equipment and recycling regime, well explained in hand folder, also containing maps of area with visitor information. Parking across the way in rail station carpark but please be aware make sure you have permit and ticket now costing £19 per week. I am a blue badge holder which was displayed, approval of parking permit confirmed and believed I had done everything required only to discover a parking ticket and now left to resolve this issue with company who own car park, not British Rail.

The property is in a poor state, and was apparently furnished from a junk shop.

Dirty, broken furniture, a broken shower head, a hole in the bath and an extractor so filthy you wouldn't believe it has ever been cleaned. The owner has refused to respond to my complaint via Sykes, because we didn't give them the opportunity to put things right during our 4 day stay. In truth, they would have needed more than 4 days to make this place acceptable. The owner has the health food shop downstairs and I can't believe that she inspects it and doesn't see it's failings. Utterly disgusted with how Sykes deal with clients and am currently getting advice on how to take this further. Unbelievably, Sykes do not have a formal complaints procedure - or if they do, they refuse to disclose it. The property is not fit for purpose.

      Absolutely fantastic.

Liz and Dai are perfect hosts. Helpful and kind without being intrusive. The annex is top notch, like a show home, with all the amenities you would expect. A super comfortable double bed and lashings of hot water. It is located in a nice quiet village, but just a short car ride from pembroke Town, including the castle. I went on a boat ride to Skomer Island, which is a nature reserve for birds, including puffins and skewers, fabulous. There are numerous beautiful walks, and beach destinations in the area, and the cottage has ample information books, maps and leaflets to help you plan your activities. Liz and Dai are always on hand in case you get stuck or need any advice. Loved it.

      Ideal for us.

...spacious and really comfortable. The kitchen was really well appointed, the living room had comfortable sofas and a lovely woodburner, though we didn't need it much at all as the flat was very warm and cosy. It was really relaxing. It was quiet and extremely well located in the village itself with all the possible amenities you could wish for. Newport is a lovely little village. You can walk directly from the flat on to the coastal path, down to the seafront or even to the beach, as well as up into the hills. Claire and her mum were excellent hosts and responsive as well as very friendly. We really recommend this place and will be returning.

    • Mr Graham - Verified booking

Very disappointed in this place. Photos make the place look better than it is. It wasn’t very clean. Dirty tissues behind the bedside cabinet, very dusty everywhere. No pillow protectors on the pillows. The cushions on the bed were grubby. Old used air fresheners left in various places. No wi fi. The bathroom was ok and the bath good. It is so well situated to the town and the beach. It’s a pity that it is so tired and old!! Thought it was bad that we couldn’t get in till 6.30pm as we could see the place was empty and we don’t think it had been cleaned as it didn’t smell clean. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or come to this flat again.
