    Narberth Holiday Cottages

Narberth is a town in Pembrokeshire founded around a Welsh court that became a Norman stronghold. Narberth has gained a reputation as a popular destination for shoppers. Its high street is packed with art galleries, antique emporiums, independent boutiques and fine food delis. There are plenty of bars to frequent and restaurants to enjoy, many of which are award-winning. The town developed around the walls of Narberth Castle and holds an incredible heritage. Represented in the Celtic legend of Mabinogion, this ancient Welsh town was featured in folk tales dating as far back as the 14th century.

A colourful and vibrant market town, book a Narberth holiday stay in one of the rainbow-hued Edwardian and Georgian buildings lining the streets. We also have romantic stone cottages perfect for a couple’s retreat or opt for a gorgeous open-plan barn stay for the whole family. Can’t leave Fido at home? What our customers say about their holidays

    • Graeme - Verified booking

Rhydlandgoed is a lovely cottage attached to the main house.

It is very comfortable and nicely furnished and with little oddments (ornaments, pictures) scattered around to make it feel homely rather than an anonymous rented space. Everything we needed was provided - logs for the woodburner, towels, bedding, crockery, cooking utensils, hair drier etc..We really enjoyed it. The owners were very welcoming and looked after us without being in any way intrusive. When we had a power cut they quickly brought over lanterns so that we weren't completely in the dark (it only lasted about 10 minutes). The main house has beautiful gardens, which you are free to make use of, and it is all set amidst the National Trust Colby Woodland Garden. So quite isolated. It's a 20 minute walk down a woodland track into Amroth village, where there are three pubs and a couple of shops. It is probably possible to drive down but we preferred not to. Make sure to take a torch for dark nights! Amroth itself has an expansive beach and is well placed for exploring. You can walk to Saundersfoot along the beach at low tide, although some rock clambering is involved if you don't want to get wet feet. Tenby, Narbeth, Laugharne and Stackpole are all a short drive away, with St. Davids being about an hour. Very enjoyable and recommended.

The cottage was a pure joy to stay in.

Our hosts Carolyn and Tony were welcoming on arrival and gave us a tour and history of the property. The cottage is set in the most beautiful setting and at this time of year the rhododendrons and azaleas were stunning. It is bright and spacious with comfortable beds and tastefully furnished, very homely. You can also visit tea room next door which serves delicious cakes. There is just a 15 minute walk through the grounds to the small seaside village of Amroth with a welcoming pub which serves very nice food. We walked with our dogs to the next seaside town of Saundersfoot via the Pembrokeshire Coastal path, there are very steep steps at first to climb but the views at the top are well worth it. If the tide is out then you can walk on the beach. Tenby is a short drive away and Barafundle beach and Bosherston lakes are a must visit. It is a piece of paradise, quite and tranquil.

We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

The interior is beautifully furnished and really well equipped and it would be very difficult to surpass its location, set in beautiful grounds in the midst of National Trust gardens which encompass a picturesque valley and surrounding hills and woods. A walk through the woods leads one to the dog friendly beach at Amroth with its pubs, restaurants and shops and Tenby and Saundersfoot are only a short drive away for more shops and supermarkets. (Kilgetty, which is nearer, has a very well stocked supermarket also). Finally it would be difficult to find more welcoming, friendly hosts than Tony and Carolyn for whom nothing was too much trouble. An amazing place in a very lovely part of the world!

      We had an amazing time.

The property is gorgeous with everything you need. It is immaculate and extremely comfortable. The surrounding grounds are stunning. This cottage is special and we would recommend it too friends and family and we would definitely stay again. Tony, Carolyn and their beautiful dogs are lovely and made us feel very welcome and shared their local knowledge and recommended places of interest to visit. There is a National Trust café at the back of the property and it is a 15minute stroll through the woodland to Amroth beach which has a couple of restaurants and gift shops and of course ice cream and is dog friendly on one side. We only wish that we had stayed longer.

It’s such a wonderful historic property and location.

Dog friendly , perfect for walking and easy drives to shops and other places . NT cafe does fabulous coffee cakes food every day just round the back of the house. Wales is often cold and wet so I would always recommend remembering warm clothing even in summer! As it’s an old property don’t expect the same levels of draughtfree warmth of a modern house. (Easily remedied by the wood burning stove) Instead just enjoy being in such an amazing setting surrounded by the grandeur of the Colby private gardens and its adjoining National Trust parklands , woodlands and babbling brooks. We always look forward to our holidays there and hate to leave.
