Myself and my husband went for a short break.
The accommodation had everything you need for this. Lots of cooking equipment but no instructions how to use any of it ( we did not use anyway). We took teatowels, soap, shampoo, etc but, this is all provided, even though not listed on itinerary. The description of the accommodation was accurate but nothing to say about steep climb up from road if you are walking. The area itself is beautiful, green an lush, went on some lovely walks but again, a lot of ascending inclines. The farm has a menagerie of animals who all come to say hello, particularly Sylvie the cat and mabel, a new foundland, both indulging in having a fuss. Ceri is lovely, willing to help with anything and full of information about the area. We purchased pork pies from her which were amazing- we bought some home too, along with some goat burgers. Could do with a list of produce and prices left in accommodation as they do not have an actual shop. Tha accommodation is quite compact but enough for 2 people. The shower room/ toilet is right next to bed and you cannot open door properly to get into it. We reported the outside lights not working which Ceri came to look at same morning. The hot tub we only managed to use once because of weather, it was great to ease weary bones but, could do with shelter overhead to enable more use. We had not tried this kind of holiday before but would definitely recommend, would like stay in a cottage next time though. Overall, had a lovely few days in beautiful area.

Our family of four stayed in Cwn Hedd cabin for most of August 2019. It is one of the best cottages we have rented and is so well equipped it was a real home from home. The location is great as surrounding the cabin is countryside but you can be in the centre of Cardiff in half an hour. As soon as we arrived we relaxed as the Cabin is light, spacious and immaculately clean with many thoughtful touches. We experienced all weathers from torrential rain and gales to blistering heat. On all days the cabin felt comfortable and the view over the lake was a joy to behold. We wasted many hours sitting in front of the picture windows with a cup of coffee tracking the clouds on the lakes surface and identifying the birds and wildlife. Take binoculars! What helps the atmosphere further is the welcoming and friendly approach of the owners, from the lovely welcome pack, to plentiful logs for the stove and chimera as well as good advice about walks on the farm and things to do locally.

Very peaceful and comfortable stay at the Shepards Hut Retreat.
It was a wonderful place to be - within beautiful surroundings together with a fully equipped kitchen and clean bathroom toilet area, with plenty of hot water. Field is very well kept by roy's grass cutting. The bed and linen was dreamy with lovely comfortable pillows. All the little things are provided solar light, usb charging point and wood stove accessories. The folks at the farm next door are a quiet private family, they also provide free range eggs, homemade apple juice and wood for the stove in the shed via an honesty box. Beautiful starry canopy overhead unhindered by light pollution together with the resident cow and calf family overlooking the perimeter fence, this place is a little piece of heaven of grid. Caban Cwm Hedd is a fantastic property. If you want to relax in peaceful surroundings with a spectacular view then this is the right place for you. Lovely views of lakes, which you can walk around and spot some lovely birds. Sit out on the patio area and open the bi-folding doors and just take it all in. We are a family of five with 2 small dogs. Around the property it’s very secure for dogs, so you can be sure to relax while they wonder around.
