Rosedale Lodge is praised for its prime location near the village and beach, with a well-appointed cottage ideal for exploring the area. However, some guests have raised concerns about misleading property descriptions, particularly regarding the garden and parking. The comfort of the beds and the impact of nearby building works have also been noted as detractors from the overall experience.
The property generally appears to be clean, but there are mentions of crumbs and hair in the kitchen, which suggests room for improvement in cleanliness standards.
The location is highly commended for its proximity to local amenities and the beach, making it an ideal base for holidaymakers looking to explore Alnmouth and the surrounding areas.
Guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the comfort of the beds, which negatively impacted their stay. The comfort level is noted as a significant issue that needs addressing.
The cottage is well-furnished and equipped, but concerns about maintenance, such as the misleading description of a garden and issues with parking, have affected guests' satisfaction with the facilities.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owner or management, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The house was well equipped and the decor was good. We found the beds comfortable, the house was cosy and warm. We didnât take our dogs as planned because of lack of garden but that was our choice.

In a quiet village withe stunning views. Plenty of local walking areas. Bus X18 takes you to many local villages. Drops off at Alnmouth methodist church 2mins from cottage. As we travelled by train only downside seems limited taxi service and no bus runs from station to Alnmouth

The location of Rosedale Lodge is ideal for access to the village and beach. The property was clean and everything you could need was provided. There were two issues we encountered that impacted our holiday. The first was the parking situation. The listing states that private parking is available and from the photos it appears that this would be the driveway adjacent to the property. This was the main reason we selected this cottage. However the reality turned out to be that this was a driveway leading to 3 (soon to be 4) other properties. There is space for a couple of cars at the rear and because the other properties were not being used it worked out OK but during busy periods I can see this being a problem. Anyone who has visited Alnmouth will know parking on the street can be very difficult. The second issue were the beds, specifically the mattresses. We stay away from home on a regular basis and these were just terrible. One of the single beds had a halfway decent one which we took in turns to use for a better nightâs sleep but the other single and double were awful. We ended up cutting our trip short by two nights because we were so fed up with it. Such a shame because if this one issues was fixed (easily done) it would make such a difference.
