We did require heating, although only the beginning of September . Thorpe is a lovely quiet village ideally situated for walks to Ilam, Tissington, and Mildale from the door. Also to Thorpe cloud. The only criticisms were the pipes in the downstairs cloakroom required painting: and there were rats on the patio area. I realise that rats are to be found in the countryside, but perhaps some rat boxes would be of benefit. In spite of this I would recommend the cottage.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Beds really comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Couldn’t fault anything.

The bedrooms were light and roomy. It was nice to have two toilets. The kitchen-diner worked well. There were nice gardens to front and rear and lovely views to the front. It was near to Dovedale, Tissington, Ilam Park and lots of other interesting and beautiful places.
